Gary L. Siverson
Gary L. Siverson, 70, Casselton, ND, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. He fought cancer for twelve years, with a positive “never give up” attitude and never a complaint.

Gary Lee Siverson was born January 24, 1943 in Fargo, the son of Lester and Vera (Young) Siverson. He was raised in Casselton and graduated from Lincoln High School. He attended Valley City State University for one year. He worked for the railroad for one year, before going to work for Otter Tail Power Company in Cooperstown, Kindred and Casselton, ND for 43 years, retiring in 2009. In retirement, he enjoyed driving truck for Farstad Oil and helping local farmers. Gary served in the Army National Guard for a short time and then the Air National Guard for 32 years. He married Donna Hocking in 1979. Gary was an avid bowler, hunter and trap shooter, winning the ND Doubles Championship in 1999.

Gerald "Jerry" Torrance
Gerald (Jerry) Torrance, 85, of Grand Forks, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at Hearthstone in Woodside Village, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Jerry was born on May 10, 1927 to James and Dora Torrance on a farm near Gonvick, Minnesota. His family moved to Grand Forks where he lived most of his life. He attended Belmont, Roosevelt, South Junior High, and Central High School where he graduated in 1944. He entered the United States Army in 1945. He was stationed in Seoul, Korea for two years as a teletype repairer. He was honorably discharged in 1948. Upon returning to Grand Forks, he joined his father in Torrance Plumbing and Heating. He married Clarice Karver, his roller skating sweetheart, on November 23, 1950 in Crookston, Minnesota. Jerry was an avid bowler for many years. He was secretary-treasurer of the Southside League for 30 years. He was president of the Grand Forks Bowling Association from 1978 to 1984. In 1993 the Grand Forks Bowling Association inducted him into the Hall of Fame for Meritorious Achievement. Summer vacations were a special time for Jerry. He enjoyed taking his family to different destinations throughout the United States. Jerry cherished spending time with his grandchildren, whether it was playing a quick game of Sorry or Candyland, playing with Legos or Lincoln Logs on the floor, or taking them to the park and watching them play.

Gerald "Jerry" Westlund, 84, of Peoria, AZ, died on Monday, March 4, 2013, in Gardens of Sun City under the care of Hospice of the Valley.

Born Dec 25th, 1928 in Devil's Lake, ND to Helmer and Esther (Houvila) Westlund with one sister, Erlys, MN. Graduated from high school in Devil's Lake. He worked for the Dept of the Army at Camp Grafton, ND. Met his wife, Donna Clemens, in Fargo, married Aug. 24th, 1954 and moved to Mpls, MN.

Bernadette “B.” Cummings, 94, died Friday, April 12, 2013, in Palliative Care at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Bernadette “B.” Margaret Lein was born on March 30, 1919, in Perham, MN to Alois and Amelia (Foerstner) Lein. She grew up in Perham, and graduated from Perham High School. B. married Joseph Cummings on May 30, 1941, in Perham, MN. During WWII, B. and Joe were located in various cities across the U.S. While in Chicago, B. worked for Mars Candy Company, hand-wrapping Snicker bars. During this time, she also worked for the government typing confidential documents. After the war, B. and Joe moved back to Perham. They eventually moved to Moorhead, MN. Together they had six children.
