Milton J. Nelson
Milton J. Nelson was born March 31, 1927, in Fargo, ND, to Henry and Alma Nelson. After he graduated from Fargo High School, Milton joined the US Navy and served in WWII. Upon his return, he attended and graduated from Dakota Business College.

Milton married Violet Brenden of Hillsboro, ND, on March 14, 1951. Milton worked for NCR (National Cash Register Company) for forty years. When he retired in 1989, he and Violet purchased a home in Mesa, AZ, where they spent their winters. Their summers were spent fishing on Lake Cormorant, MN. Violet passed away in 1995.

Mayville, N.D. - Mark Boeddeker, 52, Mayville, formerly Hillsboro, ND died Friday at Sanford Hospital in Fargo N.D.

Mark is survived by his parents Eugene and Gloria Boeddeker; his daughters Annastasia Boeddeker and Heather Prestegord; and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Nathaniel Boeddeker and sister Molly Boeddeker.

Vivian Lerud, 91, Valley City, ND died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City.

Vivian Dorothy Johnson was born February 5, 1923 on a farm near Amenia, ND to Gust and Lois (Bly) Johnson. At the age of nine, she moved with her parents to a farm near Hunter, ND. She attended the rural Bell School and later graduated from high school in Hunter. She worked for area farm families until going to Minneapolis, MN, where she worked for the Munsingwear Co. After returning to Hunter, she married Arnold O. Lerud on December 11, 1943 at Perley, MN. They lived at Perley for two years before moving to a farm near Gardner, ND, where they lived until moving to a farm near Hunter. In 1971, they moved back to Gardner and farmed before returning to Hunter in 1980. Arnold died in 1982. Vivian moved to Fargo in 2001 and to Valley City in 2010.

Charles W. Baird
Charles W. Baird, 86 of West Fargo, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Sanford Health Palliative Care in Fargo.

Charles was born on April 3, 1927 in Crookston, MN to Frank and Inga (Wolstad) Baird. He grew up on the family farm and served in the US Army in Korea. Following his discharge from the military, he married MaryAnn Derosier in November 1955. Charles owned and operated Baird Construction in Fargo for many years.

Stacy Maria Engel, 35, Hillsboro, ND passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Hillsboro Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 24, 1978 to Ralph and Charlotte (Thompson) Engel in Hillsboro where she grew up and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1996. Following graduation she attended Mayville State College. After two years of attendance, Stacy’s lifelong journey began. She was diagnosed with an extremely rare and degenerative disease that she fought courageously, with her devoted family by her side, until the end.

Despite the many difficulties she faced, she met them with grace, and maintained a positive attitude through everything. She never let her disease get her down and through her faith, managed to take great joy out of life. Stacy was an avid sports fan, spending countless hours watching football and golf. The Denver Broncos, Notre Dame, and NDSU, were some of her favorite teams. She also cherished the time she spent with her family at the lakes and at the farm, particularly during harvest season.
