James "Jim" Magill
James "Jim" Magill, 76, of Verona, North Dakota, passed away June 14, 2013.

James Patrick, son of Thomas and Viola (Lemna) Magill was born January 26, 1937 in the family home on the farm near Verona. He attended rural grade school at Cleveland, and graduated from Verona High School. He then attended North Dakota State University in Fargo majoring in Agriculture. After graduating, Jim moved back to the Magill Farmstead to farm. He married Bonnie Peterson on June 10, 1961, and together they had three children, Jeffery, Jane, and Timothy. He semi-retired in 1988, but continued raising cattle until age 65, when he fully retired.

Memorial Services for Duane W. Lidstrom, 98, of Detroit Lakes are scheduled for Monday, June 24, 2013 at 1:00 PM from the Congregational Church-United Church of Christ in Detroit Lakes with Reverend Mark Kuether officiating. Visitation is 1 hour prior to the service. Duane died on February 10, 2013 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes.

Duane Wallace Lidstrom, son of Knute and Elna (Modey) Lidstrom, was born in the village of Richwood on March 2, 1914. He grew up in Richwood, graduated from the eighth grade there, was a 1931 graduate of Detroit Lakes High School, and received a Bachelor of Education degree from Superior Wisconsin State College in 1936. After teaching for one year at Central High School in Superior, Wisconsin, he resigned to continue his education of the University of Minnesota where he earned a Master’s Degree in History in 1938.
