Olive Dockter was born July 6, 1926 to Emil and Albina (Hochhalter) Dockter on the family farm near Venturia, ND. She was the oldest of five children and attended McIntosh County Country School through 8th grade. Olive was married to Christ A. Diede on October 7, 1945 in Ashley, ND. They lived on farms south of Venturia, ND and then east of Eureka, SD until 1953, when they moved to West Fargo, ND. They had three daughters, and for the majority of the time raised their children in Moorhead, MN.

Gordon Langerud, 98, Hawley, MN, died on Saturday, April 5, 2014, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Gordon was born on December 16, 1915, in Keene Township, near Hitterdal, MN, to Harold and Selma (Renslow) Langerud. He attended rural school in Keene Township and then attended school in Hitterdal for a short time. He was a dairy farmer in Keene Township all of his life.

Garry Allen Dailey,78, of Peachtree City, Georgia died Monday March 3rd at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born June 1st, 1935, in Fargo, North Dakota, the oldest of three children born to Stanley and Lillian (Hendrickson) Dailey. He grew up in Fargo and raised his family in Moorhead, MN. He married A. Geraldine Anderson on December 28, 1955. They have 3 children: Roger (Betsy) Dailey, Portland, OR; Pam(Kurt) von Rosenberg, Mission, TX; Judi(Peter) Tufte, Lake Wedowee, AL. They have 7 grandchildren: MacKenzie and Spencer Dailey; Jason, Jaret, and Korby von Rosenberg; Lyndsi (Mitch) Tufte Paumen and Landon Tufte.

He was inducted into the Army on February 2, 1956, where he served as a medical corpsman and played trumpet in the Army band. He enjoyed a 45 year career as an Optician. He began with Bausch and Lomb before moving to Harold’s Optical in Fargo. Next, he spent several years with Sinkler Optical before he and his wife opened their own business in Fargo; Garry’s Opticians.

Roberta Ann Thies
Roberta Ann Thies, 75, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on February 14, 2014. She was born on August 22, 1938 in Fargo to Harold and Gladys Love. In 1960, she married Gerald D. "Andy" Thies of Sabin, MN. Andy preceded her in death in 1999. They are survived by daughter Mary Jane (Ron) Kramer, Indianapolis, IN, and son Tim (Phoenix, AZ), and blessed with seven grandchildren. She will join Andy at The National Cemetery of Arizona; a private service will be held at a later date. According to her wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Roberta Thies Memorial College Fund at any Wells Fargo bank, which will support her grandchildren's

Raymond "Ray" Zent
Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond "Ray" Zent, 75, of Mott, will be Monday, February 10, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott. Fr. Charles Zins will officiate and burial will follow at the Sunnyslope Cemetery in Mott. Visitations will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Mott and one hour prior to the Mass on Monday morning at the church. A Rosary and Wake service will be on Sunday evening at the Church at 7:00 p.m.

Raymond Francis Zent, the son of Raphael and Mary Renner Zent, was born on May 27, 1938 on his parents' farm in Cedar Butte Township south of Mott. Ray began his elementary education in a single-room school house at Cedar Butte #2 and finished his primary years at Lemmon Public School. Ray attended high school at the Assumption Abbey in Richardton, N.D. and then enrolled at North Dakota Agricultural College in Fargo, N.D. He was a member of the Farm House Fraternity. On May 21, 1961, he graduated from the newly named North Dakota State University of Agriculture and Applied Science with a degree in Agricultural Mechanization. While attending college and for a short time after graduation, Ray worked for John Deere Corporation in Fargo. This was the beginning of his love of John Deere equipment.
