Clair Melvin Storhaug
Clair Storhaug, Breckenridge, Minnesota and formerly of rural Milnor, North Dakota passed away quietly on Friday afternoon, May 17th, at St. Catherine's Nursing Home, Wahpeton, North Dakota.
Clair was born November 4, 1948 to Floyd and Mavis Storhaug. He attended Aliceton School and later graduated from Lisbon High School in 1966. On December 22, 1965 Clair married Susan Gregor. They made their home in rural Aliceton Township where Clair farmed in partnership with his father and later by himself for more than 40 years.

Byron Fatland
Byron passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Villa Maria in Fargo surrounded by his family.
Byron was born on July 27, 1935, the son of Clarence and Borghild (Engh) Fatland in Fargo. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School. Byron proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956 until his discharge in 1958. He returned to North Dakota and was united in marriage to Sylvia Stene on August 27, 1960 at East Marsh River Lutheran Church. They made their home in Billings, MT before moving back to Fargo in 1964. Byron worked for 32 years at Greyhound Bus. In 1991 he moved to Lisbon, ND where he made his home at North Dakota Veterans Home. He returned to Fargo in 2003 and has lived at Villa Maria since that time.

Sheila K. Heger
Sheila K. Heger, 57, Wahpeton, ND, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, after a brief illness due to CJD, at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 10:30 am, at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Dale Lagodinski as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5 PM to 8 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Vigil at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton and one hour before the service on Thursday. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton. Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton is in charge of arrangements.
Sheila was born September 11, 1955 at Breckenridge, MN, the daughter of Arthur and Marlene (Braun) Luick. She grew up on a farm near Fairmount, ND, attending LaMars #1 Country School, and graduating from Rosholt, SD, High School in 1973. She attended NDSSS where she graduated in 1975. Sheila worked for Dr. Helland for several years before she started her employment with NDSSS. She was President's Secretary for Dr. Blikre and Dr. Olson before being involved with NDSCS Alumni Association and Foundation for several years. She recently has worked with the Wahpeton School District. She was united in marriage to Joe Heger on June 14, 1986 at St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton. The couple resided in Wahpeton where they raised their three children.

Muriel Rufsvold, 93, died Saturday, May 11, at the Veteran's Home in Lisbon, ND. Muriel Melhus was born in Willmar, MN on May 8, 1920. Her family later moved to Minneapolis, where she graduated from South High School. She then attended Augsburg College and Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing to become a registered nurse. Soon after, she served during WWII as an Army nurse in an Evacuation Hospital in the Pacific Theater. December 27, 1947, she married Owen Rufsvold. They lived in Illinois, Minneapolis, and then settled on the family farm in Fort Ransom. She was a nurse at the Lisbon Hospital for 26 years.
She is survived by three children: Philip (Colleen) Rufsvold of Fort Ransom; Janine (Jerry) Stene of Fargo, ND; and Nina (Royce) Aardahl of Sauk Rapids, MN. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ow

Adeline Mae Erickson
Adeline M. Erickson, 85, of Fargo, ND, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2013. She died at Sanford Health in Fargo, surrounded by loved ones.
Adeline was born May 2, 1928 in Appleton, WI, to John and Thea (Thompson) Erickson. As a child, she moved with her family to Fort Ransom, ND. She attended school at Fort Ransom, graduating from high school in 1946. After graduating, Adeline worked in Fargo for a few years and then moved to Oakland, California, where she began her career with Blue Cross-Blue Shield. She transferred back to Fargo for a short time in the early 50's and then returned to California until 1970, when she again returned to Fargo and resided there until the time of her death. After retiring from Blue Cross-Blue Shield, she worked at various temporary positions and volunteered at the Dakota Hospital gift shop for many years. She was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in North Fargo. Adeline enjoyed traveling, playing some bingo, and spending time with her many friends and family. She especially appreciated the friendships at Sunrise North during her recent illness. They were her extended family.

Gerald Hopewell, 80, Fargo, ND died May 8 at Bethany Homes in Fargo. Gerald was born Feb. 1, 1933 in Oakes, ND to Guy and Emma (Kern) Hopewell. He attended rural Milnor, ND school. He married Geraldine Johnson Feb. 11, 1953 in Lisbon, ND. Gerald worked for ranchers near Lisbon and Milnor, ND, Montana and Wisconsin. He operated a logging and salvage yard in Leonard, ND. He served as a minister for Church of God Seventh Day in Fargo. He retired in 1995. Gerald is survived by his wife, Geraldine; children, Cindy Hopewell of West Fargo, Dianne (Dale) Mischke of Kindred, Karen (Kenneth) McMahon of Kindred, Geoff (fiance, Kari) Hopewell of Kindred, Jesse (Wanda) Hopewell of Kindred, Jack (Lori) Hopewell of Kindred, Jeremy (Pamela) Hopewell of Kindred and Lucinda Hopewell of Kindred, a sister; Shirley Funk of Lisbon and a brother, Marvin Hopewell of Milbank, SD. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Faye Tangen and Lorraine Lundin and a brother, Clark.
The funeral service will be at 2:30 PM Monday, May 13th at Trinity L
