Irene Anderson, 97, West Fargo, ND died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo.

Irene Ottelia (Johnson) Anderson was born in Prosper, ND on June 20, 1915. She was the third child born to Oscar and Martina (Ecklund) Johnson. Irene went to Moorhead State Teacher’s College and began her teaching career at the Twitchel School, a one-room school house with Kindergarten through 8th grade. She married Raymond Anderson on August 30, 1940 and resided on the farm near Gardner, ND. Irene took some time off after her marriage to raise her family and help take care of the farm. She continued her teaching career at the Argusville and Arthur schools. Irene has lived in Fargo, ND (Woodland Acres), Dent, MN (Star Lake), and West Fargo, ND.

Patricia Mary Johnson
Patricia Mary Johnson (nee McLennan) passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Acute Care Hospital in Billings, MT; her husband, son Mark and his wife Lorie were at her side. Death was caused by complications associated with surgery six months earlier. Pat was born in Chicago on 23 November 1934, the daughter of Earl and Teresa McLennan, and the youngest of three sisters. Only Pat grew to adulthood as her two siblings died tragically early in life.

As a beautiful young lady, Pat married Wally Johnson her high school sweetheart and soul mate on July 9, 1955. The two went on to forge an inseparable relationship that was steadfast for the nearly 58 years they shared love and life together.

Berniece Elizabeth Alley, age 76 of Cooperstown, ND, formerly Glenfield, ND passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND with family by her side.

Berniece was born in Cooperstown on May 14, 1936 to Oscar and Amanda (Fadness) Hogie. She grew up and attended school in Cooperstown, graduating Cooperstown High School. She was employed by the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as well as other small jobs along the way. Berniece married Eugene Alley on February 17, 1956. After their marriage the couple made their home in Glenfield where they owned and operated the Glenfield bar for several years. Berniece loved to cook and entertain guests. She was a member of the Carl Bostrom Legion Auxiliary and the Prairie Faith Lutheran Church.

Lillian Christine Grill
Lillian Christine Grill, 95, of Fargo passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Sanford Medical Center Palliative Care Unit. She was born April 5, 1918 in Streeter, ND to Oscar and Otilla Seher. Lillian was a graduate of Streeter High School and Valley City State University and taught school in the towns of Marion, Kathryn, and Streeter, ND.

On June 8, 1941, she married Helmut Grill in Streeter. They lived in the towns of Streeter, Kathryn, and Casselton, ND, moving to Fargo in 1956. Here, Lillian was employed at what was then known as the Idea Shop and Southside Ben Franklin Store. She retired in 1976. Lillian was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, where in her younger years, she was active in many of the organizations and taught Sunday School.

Maxine Norma was born on March 15, 1928 to Oscar and Anna (Jung) Johnson on the family farm near Osakis, MN. Maxine was 3 when her father died suddenly. Her family then moved to town where she attended school. As a teenager they relocated to Minneapolis where she graduated from Marshall High School in 1946.
