Myrtle V. Kuehn, 97, died at Sanford Palliative Care on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from complications from a stroke. She was a loving mother and mother-in-law, and will be deeply missed.

Myrtle Victoria Barsness was born on December 30, 1915 to Carl and Betsy (Lerdahl) Barsness, in Cyrus, MN. She grew up in Cyress and attended school through the 11th grade. Myrtle married Ervin L. Kuehn on May 12, 1940 in Cyress. They had two sons, Gerald (Jerry) and James.

Karen Louise Bosh was born November 4, 1944 in Lankin, ND, daughter of Bill and Georgia (Maixner) Bosh. She was raised in the Brocket-Lakota, ND area and graduated from Lakota High School in 1962. She began her career as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell Phone Company in 1961 at the age of 17 and retired in 2001.

John E. Bakke died April 29, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND from complications following surgery. Funeral services will be held at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, MN on Saturday, May 4 at 1:00. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

John was born May 8, 1951 in Minneapolis, Mn. He graduated in 1969 from Evansville Public School, Evansville, MN and then from Moorhead State University. John owned his own contracting business for many years in Fargo. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, the Vikings and spending time with family. He also enjoyed music and was a very gifted singer.

Ronald Gene Olson, 72, Dilworth, MN, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Sanford Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND.

Ron was born May 6, 1940, to Bennie and Mae (Lindholm) Olson in Barnesville, MN, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1958. After graduation, Ron joined the Navy and served as an aircraft electrician from 1958-1962. Following his time in the Navy, Ron became a member of the Air National Guard. He retired after twenty-two years of service.

Ester Sexhus
Ester Sexhus, 108, of Cando formerly of rural Leeds, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Towner County Living Center in Cando.

Ester Henrietta Emelia (Ahlberg) Sexhus was born March 15, 1905 at home in Springfield Township north of Leeds, ND, to David and Emelia (Nilson) Ahlberg. She lived on the farm until the family moved to Seattle, WA in 1918. Ester attended high school there and following graduation in 1922 from Lincoln High School, she came home to the farm. After attending Valley City Normal College, Ester returned to the Ahlberg home and taught grades 1 thru 8 at the Wheatland Country School for eight years. Ester and Sanford Sexhus were married January 26, 1939 at Leeds. The couple lived and farmed the Sexhus Homestead rural Leeds. Following Sanford’s death on January 1, 1993, Ester lived on the farm until moving to the Towner County Living Center at Cando in 2008.

Paul Ormbreck, 84, of Ulen, MN died Sunday, April 28, 2013 in Sanford Health Systems, Fargo, ND.

David Paul Ormbreck was born to Christian and Christine (Vesterheim) Ormbreck on February 26, 1929 in Ulen. Paul attended school in Ulen where he graduated from Ulen High School with the class of 1948. He then attended Grand Forks Commercial College earning a certificate in business in 1949. Paul started his career in banking with Northwestern State Bank in Ulen. He moved through a number of responsibilities and at retirement in 1992, was in charge of the bank's insurance department. He remained on their board of directors for a number of years.

Willard J. Bahr of Fargo passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, at the Sanford Palliative Care Unit in Fargo. He was 87.

A great hunter, fisherman and gardener, Willard was a family man who also enjoyed spending many summers at the family cottage on Crystal Lake near Pelican Rapids, Minn. He spent many hours trapshooting and loading shells, and was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan. He was a hard-working person who cared very much about his children and grandchildren.

Stephen M. Jordan, 65, of Fargo, ND died Monday, April 29, 2013 at Sanford Hospital.

Stephen was born April 12, 1948 in Fargo to George and Eleanor (Heyerdahl) Jordan. He is survived by his sisters, Kathryn Gargano, Hibbing, MN and Georgia “Gigi” Hellerud, Pollock, SD; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
