FARGO – Things are happening fast in Keianna Gafkjen’s life. The 16-year-old, who goes by Anna, got married Nov. 14. In January, the Fargo teen will be having a baby. While her husband attends Woodrow Wilson High School, Gafkjen has spent the last three weeks on the second floor of the Agassiz building, studying for and taking five GED tests.

Daniel R. Nielson, 55 of Horace, ND, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at his home.

Daniel was born on October 20, 1958 in Fargo to Robert and Marvyl (Furnberg) Nielson. He graduated from West Fargo High School in 1976 and worked various jobs in the construction industry. Dan loved animals, especially his dog, Buddy and enjoyed cooking and spending time with his friends. He was very mechanical and could fix anything and he took great pride in his projects.

Ruby Elizabeth Holecek, 92, of Breckenridge, MN, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton, ND. The visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:30PM, with a prayer service at 5:00PM, and Christian Mothers Rosary at 5:30PM,Friday, November 29, 2013, at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30AM, Saturday, November 30, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge. Father Joseph Backowski will be the celebrant. The interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Breckenridge.

Ruby was born on July 17, 1921, to Norman and Tilda (Auseth) Harvey in Foxhome, MN. She grew up near Foxhome and attended country school through the 8th grade. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1939. On July 17, 1943, Ruby was united in marriage to Frank Holecek at the Wilkin County Courthouse in Breckenridge. To this union, a son and two daughters were born. Ruby was active in St. Mary's Church, St. Agnes Mission Circle, Christian Mothers, VFW Auxiliary, and the Breckenridge Senior Center.

Samantha Dawn Wickenheiser (Sam, Sammy), 23, was residing at 1105 7th Ave. N. Fargo, ND, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend, died at her apartment on Saturday, November 23, 2013. Her life was taken from us tragically and too soon.

Samantha was born May 11, 1990, in Fargo, N.D., the daughter of John and Carol (Stangeland) Wickenheiser. She was raised in Kindred, N.D. and graduated from Kindred High School in 2008 where she enjoyed art, music, basketball, volleyball, cheering on her classmates, and making memories with friends. She had a great love for animals and at one time aspired to become a veterinarian.

Ida LeRoyce Hagen, 61, passed away on Wednesday, November 20th, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND, surrounded by her family and friends.

LeRoyce was born on June 18, 1952, in Sisseton South Dakota to Thelma (Mollerud) and Leroy Lenz. She grew up and attended school in Glenwood, MN, graduating from Glenwood High School. She then attended Mankato State University in Mankato, MN, where she received her Nursing degree. She had a passion for care-giving and interacting with people, and nursing allowed her to live out this love.
