Bernard 'Bernie' Francis Huss
Bernard ‘Bernie’ Francis Huss, 88, Alexandria, MN, formerly of Sykeston and Devils Lake, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 surrounded by his family at the Knute Nelson Care Center in Alexandria.

Bernie was born January 2, 1926 to the late Elizabeth (Hafner) Huss and Michael Huss in Dover, ND. He graduated from Sykeston High School in 1944, attended Santa Barbara Community College and Moler Barber School. Bernie was a World War II veteran, serving our country in the United States Navy stationed in Hawaii, the Naval Reserves and the Army National Guard, retiring after 26 years of service. He was a farmer, Standard Oil Agent, Oliver Farm Implement Dealer, Milbank Insurance Agent, United States Department of Agriculture Supervisor Enumerator, Barber and United States Postal Carrier.

Margaret Aasen
Margaret (Marge) Aasen, 87 of Mayville died peacefully while surrounded by her family on February 4, 2014 at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND. She was born March 5, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA, one of six children to Charles and Elizabeth Ferris.

She met the love of her life, Orlo (Ace) Aasen while he was in the Navy, and stationed in Philadelphia. It was love at first sight, and they were married six weeks after meeting on June 17, 1944. The couple moved to Mayville, ND where they lived for their entire wedded life of 67 years. Marge and Ace wintered in Arizona for 23 years, and spent many fun-filled summers entertaining at Lake Melissa and their backyard pool. Since being surrounded by friends and family brought her great joy, it was here that she was in her element.

Albert J. Myers, 66, Fargo, ND died Wed., Feb. 5, 2014 at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo.

Albert Joseph Myers was born June 30, 1947 to Thomas C. and Rita (Miller) Myers in Poughkeepsie, NY. He attended St. Peter’s Parochial School, where he was an active member and altar boy. He also attended Our Lady of the Lourdes High School, graduating in 1966. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and attended Naval Hospital Corpsman School, Great Lakes, IL. He was sent to Vietnam in May 1967; in the midst of battle Al was injured while attempting to rescue injured marines. After his time in the jungle he assisted in setting up a children’s hospital in Dang Ha, Vietnam with the Third Marine Division.

Doris G. Hunt, Fargo, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Essentia Health, Fargo surrounded by family.

Doris was born February 12, 1928 in Fall River, MA to Aldei and Bertha (Dion) Lachance. Her French-Canadian heritage was a source of great pride to her and she spoke French fluently. She grew up in Fall River, graduating from Durfee High School in 1945. She went on to graduate from Thibodeau Business School, Fall River, MA. She worked in various clerical positions before becoming a full time mother and wife. She married Joseph W. Hunt on May 19, 1951 in St. Anne’s Cathedral, Fall River, MA. Due to Joseph’s job in the USAF, they had the opportunity to live in several cities across North America. The family was stationed to Fargo where Doris eventually made her home.

Edna Marion Luoto was born October 22, 1919 in Fullerton, ND to Matt and Fannie (Krapu) Luoto. She grew up on the family farm near Fullerton. She graduated High School there in 1939. Edna married Emil Kelly, May 22, 1943 in Moorhead, MN. They moved to Fargo in 1944 and Edna graduated from Chicago Hair Dressing Academy. Edna worked for Koppleman’s and later owned and operated Kelly’s Beauty Shop.

Edna was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Fargo for many years. She loved music, audio books, reading and painting.
