Lorraine K. (Torrey) Kiernan
Lorraine K. (Torrey) Kiernan, age 92, of Fargo, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo. She was born on December 31, 1920 in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Roy L. and Christine (Sonnek) Torrey. Lorraine graduated from Eldridge High School in 1938 and played on the Eldridge state champion girls' basketball team.
She attended Jamestown College and in 1943 enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, Women's Reserve, and was honorably discharged in December 1945. After the war, she ran Lorraine's Beauty Shop in Jamestown for many years. On November 27, 1948, she married Robert Eugene Kiernan in Jamestown. He passed away January 6, 1978. Among Lorraine's interests were gardening, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and dancing when she was young. She was a member of St. James Parish, the Tabernacle Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Norman (Pete) Kalvick
Norman (Pete) Kalvick, 91 of Grand Forks, ND, passed away February 16, 2013 in Larimore, ND.
He was born June 20, 1921 in Hannaford ND the son of Ole and Gina (Lund) Kalvick. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Hannaford High School in 1940. In March of 1944 he enlisted in the United States Army and served until May of 1946. After the Army he started working for the Great Northern Railroad.

He was born on March 14, 1928 to William Milton and Kathleen Clare (Doyle). He grew up in Fargo with his summers spent at his parents' lake house on Lake Melissa. He caddied in the summers at Detroit Lakes Country Club and that began his lifetime love of the game of golf.

Cecelia “Toots” Marion (Harles) Sundquist
Forman, ND: Cecelia “Toots” Marion (Harles) Sundquist was born October 15, 1923, to Michael and Anna Harles in Rutland Township, Sargent County. Toots grew up in the Rutland Township and attended Rutland Consolidated School. During WWII Toots worked at the Waldorf Paper Factory in St. Paul. She returned to the Rutland area and was a waitress for several years in the Rutland and Forman areas.
On December 27, 1951, she was united in marriage to Morris Sundquist in Cogswell, ND. They moved to Bowmen Township where they lived for a short time before moving to a farmstead in Dunbar Township. There they farmed, raised cattle, chickens and pigs. Toots was a stay at home mom to their three boys. She was a hard worker and anyone who knew her saw this in her hands.

She grew up near Lanesboro, MN where she graduated high school. On November 20, 1971, she married Henry Hongerholt Jr. Rosalie worked several jobs over the years. She worked at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN from 1967-1974. In 1975, Henry and Rosalie moved to Fargo to raise their family.
Rosalie had many hobbies. She loved playing games, whether it be softball, shooting pool, bowling, or playing card and dice games. She also enjoyed going to Detroit Lakes, MN and camping. Mostly, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Her caring nature and zest for life will be greatly missed.
