Elizabeth (Liz) R. Bohnenstingl, 96 of Lidgerwood, ND passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at St. Gerard’s Community of Care, Hankinson, ND.
Elizabeth Rose Gaukler was born on October 4, 1916 in Lidgerwood, ND, the daughter of Alois and Catherine (Neiber) Gaukler. She grew up in the Lidgerwood area and attended St. Boniface Catholic School in Lidgerwood. She was married on October 22, 1941 to Raymond (Ray) Bohnenstingl at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lidgerwood. In 2011, they celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Verna Marie Kiefer
Verna Marie Kiefer was born on March 13, 1921 at Lake City, SD the daughter of Mike and Louisa (Tscherne) Janisch. She grew up on a farm Southeast of Lake City. Verna attended Lake City High School graduating in 1940. On January 2, 1941 Verna was united in marriage to George “Pete” Kiefer. They lived on a farm near Geneseo, ND for 2 years and then moved to Cayuga in 1946. She worked for Sargent County Home Health as an aide and also worked for International Multi Foods in Forman, ND. In December of 2009 they moved to the Beverly Ann Assisted Living Center in Lisbon, ND.
Verna enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, bowling, traveling and was an avid walker. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Cayuga Hall Auxiliary, was a founding member of the Cayuga 61’ers Homemakers Club.

Duane “Keith” Facey
Duane “Keith” Facey, 85, formerly of Lidgerwood, ND, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Lake Region Hospital, Fergus Falls, MN. Keith was born March 3, 1927 to Ted and Bernice (Hanson) Facey. He grew up in Gilby, ND, graduated high school and then enlisted in the Navy. After the Navy, he earned a business degree at UND, Grand Forks, ND. He married Florence Scheeler in July 1951. They lived in Enderlin, ND and co-operated a Gambles Store. They moved to Lidgerwood, ND in 1954 and owned Gambles Keith Facey & Sons, Inc. store until 1982. He then sold subscriptions to the Dakota Farmer and insurance products for Harvest Agents until he retired in 1995. Florence passed away on September 4, 1972.
Keith loved to dance (he attended 2 to 3 dances in the area per week). He belonged to the local snowmobile club and was a member of the American Legion & Knights of Columbus.

Lorraine Stevens, 92 Lidgerwood, ND passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN. Services are at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Lidgerwood, ND, at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 20, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Lidgerwood.
Lorraine Jeanette (Leack) Stevens was born in rural Lidgerwood, ND, on July 13, 1920. Lorraine graduated from Lidgerwood High School in 1938 and later from the New York Hairdressing Academy in Fargo, ND. Lorraine owned and operated a beauty shop in Edgeley, ND. She married Donald (Bud) Stevens on May 8, 1944 at Grace Lutheran in Fargo, ND and together they lived in Minot and Ryder. They then moved to the family farm in rural Lidgerwood, ND, eventually moving into town in 1968.
