Virginia A. Stitzer, 87 formerly of Detroit Lakes/Jamestown, ND area, passed away on Aug. 3rd, 2013 in Raleigh, NC. Graveside services will be held on August 24th, 2013 at 11:30 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Detroit Lakes, Mn.

Virginia was born on September 9th, 1925 to Carl and Alice (Dahlin) Freeberg in Omaha, Ne. She met and married Horace "Bob" Stitzer in Omaha, Ne. on November 25th, 1944. Bob and Virginia traveled while Bob was in the military. After his discharge, they moved to Carrington, ND where they owned and operated the S&S Coffee Shop. They moved to Jamestown, ND in 1953 where Bob was a salesman for American Hardware Mutual Insurance Co. and Virginia started the Jamestown Answering Service which she operated out of their home.

Marilyn Knutson, age 81, of Fargo, ND, passed away Sunday morning, August 4, 2013 at Sanford Health Palliative Care after a brief but hard fought struggle with Multiple Myeloma.

Marilyn Ann Miller was born on February 10, 1932 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the beloved only child of Alice (Buck) and Stanley Miller. She was baptized at United Lutheran Church and received her primary and secondary education in Grand Forks. Following her graduation from Grand Forks Central High School in 1950, Marilyn attended the University of North Dakota before transferring to Concordia College where she was active in many musical organizations. She received her Bachelor’s degree Magna Cum Laude in 1954. Following graduation she began her lifelong career bringing music into the lives of others as an elementary school teacher and high school choir director in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.

Kay (Kittelson) Keller passed away on July 25, 2013 at her home in Hillsboro, while under the care of her family, friends and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Kay was wife to Ross, mother to Dana (Joe) Larkin- Hawley, MN, Andrea Votava - West Fargo, and Kallyn (Adam) Gettel - Hillsboro, grandmother to Jordan Johnson, Evan Johnson, Alli Larkin, Lilly Larkin, Emma Larkin, Nate Larkin, Tiana Votava, Kason Bucholz, Rylan Bucholz and James Fortman, daughter to Georgene Kittelson - Grafton, sister to Greg (Sally) Kittelson - Edmond, OK, Guy Kittelson - Grand Forks, Kristi (Bill) Dahl - Grafton, Bonnie (Kevin) Lien - Fargo, Brett Kittelson - Grafton, David Kittelson - Grand Forks, Kerri (Wayne) Stegman - Drayton, Troy (Sally) Kittelson - Hoople, and Shane Kittelson - Middle River, MN, daughter-in-law to Bob (Avis) Keller - Bisbee, aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, quilting friend to Becky Kraby and Jeannie Chandler, and special friend to Janice Lorch.

Kay was born on October 4, 1957 in Grafton, ND where she graduated from high school in 1975. Kay made her home in the Grafton area until 1989 when she and her daughters moved to Devils Lake so she could attend UND - Lake Region. While attending college in Devils Lake she went on a blind date resulting in her marriage to Ross on May 18, 1991. After her marriage, her family moved to Bismarck where Kay worked as a paralegal for the North Dakota State Land Department and Attorney General's office. In 1994 Kay and her family moved to Hillsboro where she worked as a bank teller and high school secretary before becoming the owner of the Traill County Abstract and Title Company in 1999. Owning the Traill County Abstract and Title Company and researching the land records of Traill County was Kay's dream job and she was still proofreading and editing up to the time of her death.
