Jon "Shannon" Jacob Sigmund
Jon "Shannon" Jacob Sigmund, of Ft. Collins, Colorado passed away early Friday, February 22, 2013 at his home, just one week shy of his 41st birthday.

Jon was born February 28, 1972 in Fargo to Jacob and Avis Sigmund . He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo South High in 1990 and furthered his education at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota and NDSU. He then became partner with his uncle in owning and operating Video Land rental store before moving to and working in Denver, Colorado. He was briefly married to Julie Screpek while he worked for several Denver area newspapers. At the time of his death he was district manager for the Greeley Tribune, where his intelligence and wonderful sense of humor made him very popular with his fellow employees.

Marcella J. Plienis, 88, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013, in Elim Nursing Home, Fargo, ND. Marcella was born October 19, 1924, to Christ and Lydia (Streyle) Schwartz, in Napoleon, ND, where she grew up and attended school. She then worked on the family farm until she married Rueben Plienis on February 23, 1944. Together they made their home and farmed in Tuttle, ND. In the 1950's they moved to Fargo and for years they were foster parents before Marcella started her own home daycare. She enjoyed children and loved taking care of others. She also took pride in gardening. After Rueben passed away in 2004, she lived for a time at the Pioneer House in Fargo before moving to Elim where she had most recently resided.
