Elroy Frank Palmer
Elroy Frank (Roy) Palmer went home to the Lord on April 9, 2013. He was born March 5, 1938 to Elroy and Lucille Palmer in Big Fork, Minnesota. He joined the Air Force at an early age, and married his first wife, Avis Narveson. They had 5 children. He married Connie Paschke in 1968 and they have 2 children. Frank worked at the Downtown YMCA for 25 years in the old building which he loved very much. Along with his wife, he managed the Lancashire Arms Apartments for 42 years. He loved the tenants and the challenge of repairing older fixtures. His greatest pride was in the boiler rooms both at the YMCA and the apartment building. Frank also enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He made many pieces of furniture that are in use today and will be for generations to come. Frank is preceded in death by parents, Elroy and Lucille; sisters, Judith and DeAnna; and brothers, William and Everett. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Connie; sons, Brian, Clifford (June), and Loren; daughters, Jennifer (Patrick), Lorna, Charleen (Darin), Lorena (John), many grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. He will be missed by many. Mass of Christian Burial 12 Noon Friday, BASILICA OF ST. MARY, Hennepin Avenue between 16th and 17th Street. Visitation 5-8 PM Thursday THOMSON-DOUGHERTY MANSION 2535 Park Avenue, and one hour prior to service at church. Interment 1 PM Saturday Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Deer River, Minnesota.
