Cheryll Louise McDowall, 67, of Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at St. Gabriel’s Community.

Chery was born June 2, 1945, in Bismarck, North Dakota, the daughter of William and Bernice (Bliss) McDowall. She was raised on the family farm and attended grade school in McKenzie, North Dakota. In 1961, the family moved to Bismarck. She graduated from BHS in 1963 and was active in Honor Society, Concert Choir, Debate Team, Hi-Herald Staff, Orchestra and Rotary Guest. She attended the University of North Dakota before embarking on a bus adventure around the United States.

Rory Alan Benz, 23, of Fargo, was born Easter Sunday, March 26, 1989. He chose to go home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2013.

Rory grew up and attended school in Fargo. He was a baptized member of Hope Lutheran Church. Rory started swimming with the Gators team when he was in second grade and went on to be an award-winning diver on the Fargo North diving team. He was president of the Art Club and attended Boys' State, graduating from Fargo North High School in 2008. He started working at the 19th Avenue North Holiday Station at the age of 16 and was employed there for 7 years. He enjoyed chatting with the Fargo North students and the many family friends who came into the station during his shifts.
