Forum editorial: Roses to ‘Give to Live’ try
PRAIRIE ROSES: To the organizers and supporters of Alexa’s Hope “Give to Live” challenge, which fell shy of its goal to set a new Guinness World Record for signing up the most organ donors in eight hours. The event, organized by Loren and Monica Kersting, signed up 489 people in three north Fargo locations. The Kerstings’ 14-year-old daughter, Alexa, died in 2004 while waiting for a double-lung transplant. They formed Alexa’s Hope, an organization dedicated to promoting organ donation. “Give to Live” was a great accomplishment, world record or no world record, and helped spread an important message.

I was upset by a recent commentary from Tom Freier, executive director of the North Dakota Family Alliance. New Colorado? Rural voters approve secession idea
DENVER — The nation's newest state, if rural Colorado residents had their way, would be about the size of Vermont but with the population of a small town spread across miles of farmland.
