David G. Klemisch, 53, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND with his family by his side.

David Gerard Klemisch was born in Drayton, ND on November 3, 1960 to Robert and Dolores Klemisch. He grew up in Drayton and graduated from Drayton High School in 1979. David enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1980. He was stationed in San Diego, CA aboard the USS Dixon and traveled the Pacific Ocean.

Carl W. Reed, Jr
Carl William Reed, Jr was born to Carl and Madeline (Kohler) Reed on October 24, 1918, in Minneapolis Minnesota. Carl served in the United States Army during World War II and married Bonnie Nelson on October 31, 1942. His wife preceded him in death in 2009.

After working in x-ray equipment sales and service for a number of years, Carl was the founding president of Dakota Medical Systems (DMS) of Fargo. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, golfing, and amateur radio broadcasting. Carl is survived by his children: Janet (Jim) Gilsdorf of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Nancy (Bruce) Markusen of Portland, Oregon; Carl W. (Susan) Reed, III of Houston, Texas; and Patty Reed of Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Daniel and Joseph Gilsdorf, William Markusen, William Heckenkamp, Katie Carkin, and Anne Dubberke; five great grandchildren: Lauren, Emery, Natalie, Ainsley, and McKenzie; brothers, Robert of Montevideo, MN, and Paul of Minneapolis, MN.

Mark Steven Kartes
Mark Steven Kartes, 61, of Dickey, ND passed away February 9, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

Mark was born on July 18, 1952 in Jamestown, ND to Harriet Joyce Kartes and the late Charles Anthony Kartes. He graduated from Dickey High School in 1970 and attended North Dakota State University. On June 24, 1972 he married Corine Carpenter in Dickey and was a loving husband for 42 years. Mark owned & operated Kartes Kattle with his late father (Charles), brother (Thomas Kartes) and later his son (Steven Kartes). He enjoyed golfing, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his family. He was an active member of the agricultural community and was a board member of Adrian Equity Elevator, Russell Township, and FSA. He was a member of the Farm Bureau committee where he served as president for several years. Mark demonstrated his faith by serving as Assumption Church trustee and also served as a cemetery committee member.

Arthur G. Wieland
Arthur G. Wieland, 92, of Fargo, ND passed away peacefully on February 12, 2014 at Rosewood on Broadway.

Arthur was born on July 9, 1921 to Emil and Mathilda (Schlenker) Wieland in Streeter, ND. Later the family moved to Jamestown, ND where he attended school being active in sports such as hockey and football. He graduated in 1941 from Jamestown High School. Shortly after graduation he moved to Seattle, WA, where he was employed with Seattle/Tacoma Shipyards. In 1942 at the beginning of WWII he enlisted in the Army Signal Corp. with tours in China, Burma and India. He was honorable discharged in 1945, returning to Jamestown. He went on to attend Jamestown College and worked for JCPenny’s, and later fulltime for State Employment Agency. In 1950, he married Dorothy Bechtold in Jamestown where they continued to live. He was recalled to active duty in 1950 with the National Guard Battery ‘C’ soon after the Korean Conflict started and was stationed at Camp Rucker, Alabama. After his discharge in 1953, he returned to Jamestown. He then worked for R.E.Meidinger-Buick. In 1954 he was hired by Depuy Sorkness Clinic., and retired in 1986 as Clinic Administrator at Jamestown Clinic, the position he held for 20 years. He and Dorothy moved to Fargo in 1996.
