Jerry Baumgartner, 77, West Fargo, ND died on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo.

Gerald Baumgartner was born Feb. 29, 1936 at Valley City, ND to Joseph and Rose (Thilmony) Baumgartner. He grew up on a farm near Oriska, ND and graduated from high school there. He served in the US Army for two years. Jerry married Glennice McClaflin Houser on Dec. 7, 1985 in West Fargo. They traveled with Jerry’s employment as a heavy equipment operator and spent much time in Utah and Nevada. His passion was operating the “blade” better known as a road grader. Upon his retirement in the early 2000’s, they returned to West Fargo.

Jean Lund of Moorhead, MN, went to her eternal rest and peace on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, in Ecumen Evergreens in Moorhead, under the care of her loving family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Jean Rosatti was born January 20, 1926, the daughter of Joseph E. and Beatrice (LeMere) Rosatti, in Fargo, ND. Jean married Alvie Lund and together, with love and pride, they raised their family of eight children in Moorhead.

Jeffrey Lee Jones
Jeffrey Lee Jones, 66, of Sabin, MN passed away November 28th 2013, in his home surrounded by his family.

Jeff was born February 14th, 1947 in Little Fork, MN to William and Wilre (Chichester) Jones. Jeff grew up in Minnesota and briefly lived in Colorado during his childhood. In 1965 he graduated from Hibbing High School in Hibbing, MN and in 1970 he met the love of his life Sheryl (Claussen) Jones in Minneapolis, MN. They moved to Dilworth, MN where Jeff worked for the Minnesota Highway Department, and on April 8th, 1972 Jeff and Sheryl were married in Glyndon, MN. In 1977 Jeff began work for American Crystal Sugar, in Moorhead, MN where he suffered an industrial accident. Though he endured several physical injuries, he went on to achieve a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Illustration at Moorhead State University in 1985.

Bob Litherland
Robert N. Litherland, born June 3, 1922, died Monday, November 18, 2013, in his home with his wife, daughters, and dog, Maggie, at his side. He was 91.

Bob was a man of his time, founding and running the famous Moorhead Dairy Queen for 46 years, with his life partner Phyllis, his wife of 65 years. The Great Depression shaped him. He was a seven-year-old child, on vacation with his parents in California, when the market crashed, taking with it the family funds. It took the family 3 months to work their way home to Minnesota. That leaves a mark on a child, and he forever understood the value of a dollar, the privilege of working, and the honor of providing for his family. He worked 15 hour days, 7 days a week, 8 months a year until he was seventy-five. Bob was impacted greatly by his service in WWII and the Korean conflict. Dinner conversation was often about guys he served with in the Philippines and Japan - conversation about the relationships with his buddies, never about the horrors of war. It was only later in life, in the sanctuary of the First Congregational Church, that he ever acknowledged the pain of what he'd seen and done.

Donald (Don) E. McCracken, 69, of Fargo, passed away November 18, 2013 at Sanford Health.

Don was born in Oklahoma on October 27, 1944 to Donald and Irene McCracken. He attended school in Fargo. During school he worked at EPKO Film, then moved to St. Paul, MN and worked at Brown Photo.
