Marian Oleson
Marian Oleson passed away peacefully on February 12, 2014 at Hope Hospice in Fort Meyers, Florida, surround by her loving husband and children. Marian was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1936 to Martin and Emma Cleveland and grew up in the Camden neighborhood of Minneapolis where she attended Patrick Henry High School. In 1958 she graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She married Arland Oleson from Breckenridge, Minnesota in 1959. They lived in Boston Massachusetts and in 1968 returned to Moorhead, Minnesota. After raising their children she returned to school for a Masters degree in Special Education from Minnesota State University – Moorhead which she completed in 1974. She returned to work in 1973 for the Clay County Association for Retarded Citizens and was director of Friendship Village in Fargo, North Dakota from 1982 to 1992. From 1993 to 2001, she was employed by the State of North Dakota as a case manager and advocate for children and adults with developmental disabilities. In her retirement, Marian spent her time with her husband, Arland at their lake cabin in Wisconsin and home in Fort Meyers, Florida. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, quilting, cross stitching and was a long time volunteer at the "Ding" Darling Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island, Florida.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years Arland, son Paul (Patricia), daughter Karen Aulino, daughter Erika (Joel) Steen, son Neal, and her 7 grandchildren Nicholas, Aaron, Anna, Christina, Benard Joseph, Markus, and Luther. She is also survived by her sisters Esther and Anna. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 26th 10:30am at Crystal Lake Cemetery (3816 Penn Ave Nort

Loving mother of 4, mother-in-law to 4 and “Noni” to 5 grandchildren, Joanne Sara Otteson passed away peacefully on March 5, 2014 in Napa, California at the age of 84.

Born to Olga Carlson Eidem and Orville Eidem in Northwood, ND, Joanne spent her childhood and early adult years in Grand Forks, ND. Her love of music led her to her first job at Poplar’s Music Store and that love continued throughout her life. She married Armond (Ted) Otteson, Jr. (deceased 1974) in 1952 and after a brief time in Los Angeles, they settled in Fargo, ND, where all but their eldest was born. Ted and Joanne ran a lithography and graphic arts business that they started in Fargo for many years.
