Joyce Heley, 65 of Lidgerwood, ND passed away September 1, 2013 surrounded by her family at her home, rural Lidgerwood, ND, under the care of Riveredge Hospice. Funeral mass will be Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Lidgerwood, ND with Fr. Robert Smith as celebrant with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Lidgerwood. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. all at St. Boniface Church. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the mass at the church. Pallbearers are: Brad Mattson, Kevin Rolstad, Bill Illies, Randy Heley, Scott Heley & Darryl Jelinek. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren.

Joyce Bernardine Herding Heley was born June 6, 1948 in Breckenridge, MN, the daughter of Louis & Susanna (Bach) Herding. She grew up on a farm outside of Hankinson, ND and graduated from St. Francis Academy in 1965. She married the love of her life, David Heley on September 30, 1967 at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Hankinson. She worked side by side with Dave, with many great memories on the family farm raising livestock and helping in the fields. She worked at Imation in Wahpeton for 13 years and Dakota Magic Convention Center for several years once the children were grown.

Wilfred "Bill" J. Oster, 79 of Lidgerwood, ND passed away Friday, August 30, 2013 at his home in Lidgerwood. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Lidgerwood with Fr. Robert Smith as celebrant and burial with military honors by the Lidgerwood American Legion Bullis Post #84 and the North Dakota National Guard will be at Calvary Cemetery, Lidgerwood. Visitation will be Monday, September 2, 2013 from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. all at St. Boniface Church. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church. Pallbearers will be: Brady Gabel, Brandon Gabel, Haley Gabel, Ben Reinke, Carly Reinke, Spencer Reinke, Luke Oster, Bethany Oster & Caitlin Gabel.

Wilfred (Bill) Jerome Oster was born October 20, 1933 to Anthony, Sr. & Frances (Gaukler) Oster, on a farm near Tyler, ND. In 1938, the family left the farm and moved to Lidgerwood, ND. He attended kindergarten in a rural school near Great Bend, ND, finished elementary school at St. Boniface Catholic School, Lidgerwood, and graduated in 1951 from Lidgerwood High School. After graduation, he worked for Maack’s Grocery Store and various other jobs until entering the U.S. Army in 1954. Upon completion of basic training, he was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, then went over seas to Korea for a 16 month tour of duty, until his discharge in 1956. When returning to Lidgerwood, he purchased a tavern from Bob Knaust.

LaVerne Katherine Koppelman, 98 of Lidgerwood, ND passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at St. Francis Nursing Home, Breckenridge, MN. Funeral service will be Monday, August 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Lidgerwood, ND with Pastor Joseph Crosswhite officiating and burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Lidgerwood. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 with a prayer service at 5:00pm all at the Frank Family Funeral Home, Lidgerwood. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Pallbearers are: her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are:her great grandchildren. Organist will be Curt Brownlee with special music by Ken Berntson.

She was born to the late Emil and Anna (Osten) Wollitz, May 8 1915, in Lidgerwood, ND. LaVerne graduated from Lidgerwood High School in 1932. She married the late Herbert F. Koppelman on September 26, 1934 and they lived together in Lidgerwood, ND area before relocating to Wahpeton, ND in 1996. After raising 6 boys LaVerne began a 28 year career as a cook for the Lidgerwood Public School. She enjoyed creating an appetizing lunch program for the students and enjoyed seeing the children grow through the years.

Aggie, longtime resident of Lidgerwood, ND, passed away on August 10, 2013, at the Palliative Care Unit at Essentia Hospital in Fargo surrounded by her family, at the age of 68.

Aggie Loegering and her twin sister, Angie Olson, were born on June 13, 1945 to Herman and Mary (May) Loegering in Britton, SD. The family made their home near Brampton where she attended grade school. They moved to Fargo in 1957 where she attended St. Mary’s School, graduating from St. Francis Academy in Hankinson, ND. Aggie was married to Joseph O’Keefe on April 22, 1967 and four children were born to this marriage. She lived 18 years in Minot with her family.
