Chloris Steidl
Chloris Steidl, age 84, of Fingal, ND died Thursday Feb 21, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Monday Feb. 25, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic church in Fingal, ND with Rev. John Aerts celebrant. Visitation will be from 4 PM until 7 PM Sunday at the church with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery later in the spring.
Chloris Viola Kouschkowski was born May 14, 1928 to Frank and mary (Wagner) Kouschkowski. Chloris and her younger brother Linus were raised on the family farm near Courtenay, ND She attended Durham Country School for her first eight grades and graduated from Courtenay High School. Chloris then attended Valley City Teachers College for two years, graduating with a standard teacher's certificate. She taught grades one, five, and eight at Grey No. 3 Country School near Wimbledon, then grades one and two at Fingal School until her marriage. She married Ambrose Steidl on June 17, 1952 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Wimbledon, ND and the couple made their home on a farm 2 miles east and one mile north of Fingal. She was an active member of St. Anne's Christian Mothers and a supporter of Right to Life. She enjoyed baking and flowers and made some of the best molasses cookies and rhubarb pie.

Devendra Prasad Varma, 89, Fargo, ND passed away on February 11, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo. He was born on July 15, 1923 to Radhika (Devi) and Tarini Prasad Varma in Patna, Bihar, India. He was married to Bimal Varma until her passing in 1990. He grew up in Arrah and worked in BISCOMAUN as Secretary dealing with agricultural products. In 1969, under USAID, he was part of an exchange program where he visited all over the United States, Hong Kong, Philippines, and South Korea, going over the agricultural advancement in these countries. He retired in 1981 and was involved in various philanthropic work until 1994. Since 2007, he resided in Fargo.
He was respected and liked by many and led a very disciplined life. He was a role model of how to live life independently with a positive outlook.

Lena Gilson, 94, Fargo, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Sanford Health Palliative Care.
Lena was born April 30, 1918 in Linton, North Dakota to Joseph and Barbara (Glatt) Bosch. She grew up in Linton, where she graduated from high school in 1936. She worked as a waitress and variety shop clerk in Linton. She moved to Portland, Oregon where she worked for Kaiser Shipping for 3 years. Lena moved to Oakland, California and worked for Montgomery Ward for 2 years. On May 30, 1946 she married William Gilson in Pawaska, Oklahoma. They moved to Fargo in October 1946 and have lived here since.
