Narvel A. Somdahl, age 80, Bloomington, MN, died May 13 of pancreatic cancer. Survived by wife of 54 years, Marilyn (Dahlen), formerly of Michigan, ND; married children, David, Sonja & Deb; grandchildren Richard, Charles & Elizabeth Somdahl, Moorhead; Michael & Kristian Nordland, Minneapolis; sisters Betty Elfers, of AZ, and Edlyn Paulson, Lake Park, MN; brother-in-law Ron Dahlen, Michigan, ND, 14 nieces & nephews.

He earned a BSME degree at NDSU, Fargo. A Korean vet, he served the US Army Corps of Engineers in France as a 1st Lt in 1955-56. His employment with Trane Co, La Crosse, WI; Brunswick Corp, Muskegon, MI & Lincoln, NE; Dunham Bush, Harrisonburg, VA, preceded a return to Minnesota in October 1974. He was a registered Professional Engineer in WI, VA & MN. He retired in 1999 after 15 years work with MN Dept of Public Service-Energy.

He was born March 27, 1973 in Moorhead, MN, the son of Dale and Cynthia Hiltwein. Del is the oldest of 3 siblings. He graduated from Clearfield Job Corps in Utah in July of 1996 with a degree in Combination Welding. Del excelled in this field and received certifications in all areas. Del was loved deeply by his family and will be greatly missed.

Dr. Roy A. Johnson, age 94 of Fargo, ND, formerly of Minneapolis, MN passed peacefully on May 14,2013

Roy was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 16, 1919, after graduating from Minneapolis South High School, he attended Augsburg College, and Univ. of Minnesota dental school, graduating in March of 1943. After graduation he entered the Army Dental Corps and was assigned to posts in California and India, returning to marry his high school sweetheart, Marion Arliss Erickson on October 16, 1943. Roy joined the Army Reserve after his active duty and retired as a full colonel and chief of dental service for the 5501 USAR hospital at Fort Snelling.
