Odell M. Boberg
Odell (Dell) M. Boberg, 84, Moorhead, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 5, 2013.
Dell was born on August 10, 1928, to Carl and Helen (Berg) Boberg in Borup, MN. One of four children, the family later moved to a farm just outside of Twin Valley, MN. After serving in Korea as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army from 1951 to 1953, Dell returned to marry Ramona (Mona) Heiraas on July 24, 1953. They had three children and Dell’s Garage was the place everyone not only brought their cars, trucks and buses but also anything else that wasn’t working. “If you can’t fix it, to Dell with it” summed up Dell’s crack mechanic skills. At various times in Twin Valley, Dell was also Fire Chief, Civil Defense Director, substitute mailman, and ambulance driver. Dell also had a beautiful voice, loved to sing and was often asked to perform for local functions. Dell was a Past Master of the Order of the Freemasons and was a member of the American Legion. His greatest passion apart from his family was flying since the age of 19. Many Sunday afternoons were spent taking the family flying.
