Third-quarter explosion lifts top-ranked Bison to 38-7 playoff win over Furman
FARGO – A cultural shift that favored top-ranked North Dakota State took place early in the second half Saturday afternoon at Gate City Bank Field. The Bison exploded for 21 points in the third quarter to break open what had been a close game. That three-touchdown flurry sparked NDSU to a 38-7 victory against Furman University in the second round of the FCS playoffs at the Fargodome before 18,455 fans.

Marion Maxine (Monson) Conrad
Marion Maxine (Monson) Conrad of Fargo, ND, formerly of Page, ND passed away peacefully at age 93 surrounded by her loving family in Fargo, North Dakota on December 3, 2013.

Marion was born March 13, 1920, to Clara and Clarence Monson of Prosper, North Dakota. She lived on a farm with her parents and attended a two-room country school in Prosper. Marion attended high school at NDAC Campus School until it closed in 1937. She then transferred and graduated from the Moorhead State College Campus School in 1939.

Richard “Rich” Burns, 62, of Lake Ida, MN and Fargo, ND, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Rich was born in Philip, SD on April 10, 1951. Son of Donald and Shirley (Bever) Burns. He graduated from Philip High School in 1969. He married Sheila Douglas in June 1991. Rich lived in Fargo from 1969 until April 2013 when he and Sheila made their home on Lake Ida, MN.
