Nancy Elizabeth (Potts) Cote died peacefully March 19,2014 in Marshalltown, IA. She was born February 16, 1953 in LaMoure, ND, the 9th of 11 children. Her parents were Grover (Budd) and Jane (Skovgaard) Potts. She is survived by her daughter, Jessie Sloane, a grandson, Ethan Sloane, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth (Ellie) Sloane, all of Mansassas, VA. Sisters, Sally Lofthus, Nampa, ID., Pat Burgum, Mobile AL., Mary Charrier, Inver Grove Heights, MN., Fran (Harvey) Trapp, Bismarck, ND., Laura Sunsdahl, Bismarck, ND., brothers, Bobby Potts, Philippines, Bill (Terry) Potts, LaMoure, ND., Martin (Julie) Potts, Gwinner, ND., Richard (Julie) Potts, Neenah, WI., and the extended Skovgaard and Potts families. She was preceded in death by her parents Budd and Jane Potts and one sister, Virginia Evans.

On Saturday, March 29, 2014 our dearest Lenora, while surrounded by her loving family, was told the bingo numbers were higher in heaven so she decided to leave this world to play the biggest game ever.

Lenora was born April 6, 1938 in Ulen, MN to Oscar and Mary Strand (Hollevoet). Lenora grew up in Ulen where she graduated from Ulen High School. After graduation Lenora moved to Fargo where she worked for Manchester’s, Silverline, Welcome Wagon representative, and different gaming organizations. Lenora met David Halvorson in 1955 and wed on August 11, 1962 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen, MN. She was a devoted housewife and mother.

Jon Kelly Echternacht, 68, died at his home in River Falls on Saturday, March 29, of lung cancer. At his side were his sweetheart and wife of 28 years, Jeannie Gryzwa, and members of the family he loved so much.

Donna (Rowley) Becker, 74, Fargo, died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Sheyenne Crossing Care Center in West Fargo, ND.

Donna was born April 4, 1939, to Adelbert and Atla Rowley. She grew up in Bismarck, ND, and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1957. In May, 1958, she married Lee Becker. They lived in Bismarck where she worked for the North Dakota National Guard. They moved to Minot, ND in 1960, and then to Fargo in 1968. She worked in the family business, Mr. Music Man and Watts More for several years. Donna enjoyed knitting, baking, shopping, and spending time with her grand children and pets. She was also active in her church activities.

Thelma H. Lindberg, 81, Fertile, MN, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Fertile. Thelma Helene Lindberg was born Feb. 15, 1933, in Bear Park, MN, to Harold and Thora Sirjord. She was baptized and confirmed at Faaberg Lutheran Church. She graduated from Gary High School in 1949, when she was 16. In 1973, she received her LPN degree from Agassiz Valley School of Practical Nursing, Crookston, MN. On June 3, 1950, Thelma married Leo Lindberg at the Faaberg Church parsonage in Rindahl, MN. They spent their married life on a farm near Fertile where they raised 6 children. Thelma created a loving home where her children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren learned about living with faith, grace, dignity, wisdom, and good humor. Thelma generously served her church and community. A member of Varnes and Concordia Lutheran Churches, she taught Sunday school and was active in the Ladies’ Aid. Thelma was President of WELCA, participated in Christian Women’s Club, T.E.C, and Birthday Club. She worked as a Charge Nurse at Fair Meadow Nursing Home from 1973 to 1995. In retirement, she volunteered at Fair Meadow, participated in Red Hat Ladies and kept up with her lifelong hobbies of traveling, baking, quilting, gardening, knitting, and reading poetry and historical fiction. Throughout her life, Thelma was a steadfast friend to many. Thelma’s great joy in life was seeing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoying themselves at her Cable Lake cabin and attending their activities. Thelma is survived by her children: Lee Lindberg, Fertile, MN; Mark (Sue) Lindberg, Fertile; Jeff (Randi) Lindberg, Baxter, MN; Kevin (Peggy) Lindberg, Fargo, ND; Brian (Kathi) Lindberg, Mentor, MN; Teresa (Mark) Aakhus, Roosevelt, NJ; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one brother, Hiram (Harriet) Sirjord, Moorhead, MN, three sisters, Altha Spaeth and Sonja Nelson, both of Mahnomen, MN, and Vivian Johnson, Paynesville, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; mother, Thora; father, Harold; and stepmother, Elaine.
