Martell V. Erickson
Martell passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at his home at Edgewood Vista surrounded by his loving family. Martell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.

Martell was born on October 2, 1926, the son of Theodore and Alma (Ellestad) Erickson near Kindred, ND. He grew up on the family farm and attended Riverside Country School. Martell graduated from Kindred High School in 1944. He was drafted in the United States Army in January of 1946 and received his basic training in Anti Aircraft Artillery at Fort Bliss, Texas. He served overseas in Japan in the 3186 Signal Corps Battalion. After his discharge he returned to North Dakota. Martell was united in marriage to the love of his life, Joyce Brun in Fargo on October 17, 1953. They made their home in Kindred until moving to the farm near Kindred in 1955 where they raised their family and farmed with his brother Kenneth. Martell and Joyce retired from farming in 1989 and moved to Fargo in 1993. They had most recently made their home at Edgewood Vista. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jerome "Jerry" G. Peckskamp
Jerome “Jerry” G. Peckskamp, 83, formerly of Fargo, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Guardian Angels by the Lake in Elk River, Minnesota.

Jerry was born April 17, 1929 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Peter and Cornelia C. (Gebhardt) Peckskamp. Jerry graduated from Sacred Heart Academy (Shanley). He served in the Korean War and upon returning home from service he received a Business Degree from NDSU. He joined Burroughs Corp where he worked until he retired to Tacoma, Washington. He returned to Minnesota to be closer to family.

Hal Neugebauer
Hal Neugebauer, 94, West Fargo, ND died on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Halbert D. Neugebauer was born Dec. 1, 1918 in Mitchell, SD to Robert and Cecelia (Stahl) Neugebauer. He grew up near Mitchell and attended school in Letcher, SD. He taught in a one room school and drove the school bus. Hal married Clara Titze on Dec. 25, 1941 at Mitchell. He then served in the US Army during World War II in Australia and New Guinea. Upon his honorable discharge, Clara and Hal made their home in Fargo, ND where he worked for the ND State Health Dept. as a field representative, a job he held until he retired. He was an active member at Olivet Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir and served on many boards and committees. He was a member of Sertoma Club and the FM Barbershop Chorus for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger days and loved to golf. Later in life, he enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.

Elsie was born December 15, 1933 in Litchville, North Dakota, the daughter of Emil and Adelia (Kolb) Alber. She grew up on the family farm until she married Lawrence Sailer on May 28, 1953.

James F. Abrahamson
James F. Abrahamson, 88, Fargo, died January 10, 2013 at Manor Care Nursing Home. Born in Valley City he married Karen Knecht in 1943 and they had two daughters. He served in the army in WWII where he received the Soldier's Medal for saving four service men. He was post commander of the VFW and life time member of the American Legion. He was an engineer on the Northern Pacific Railroad for 35 years. He and Karen enjoyed traveling in their motor home and spending time with their grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters Diane LaMont, Mandan, Kathy Tiner-Sewell (Dan), San Francisco, CA: Grandchildren, Jill LaMont Goetz, , Mandan and Mike LaMont (Tracy), Fargo, four great grandchildren, and his sister Shirley Meyer, Valley City. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, brother, Arleigh, grandson, Justin Tiner, and son-in-law Ken LaMont.

A celebration of his life will be held at the VFW (202 North Broadway) in Fargo from 11:0
