Henry “Hank” E. Nelson, 78, of Hawley, MN, died November 8, 2013, in Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.

Henry was born June 28, 1935, in Pelican Rapids, MN, and the first born, to Edwin and Violet (Gunderson) Nelson. He grew up in Rollag, MN, where he attended country school, later moving into Hawley where he graduated from Hawley High School. Following high school he joined the National Guard and served our country. One of the major roles he served in was being on a crew that helped revived Fargo after the 1957 tornado. Henry was a member of Rollag Lutheran Church where he was confirmed. Henry married Kathy Malakowsky on September 18, 1971. He worked for Burns Motors, Don Stone’s Motor and the DeForrest Iverson Farm.

Kathleen Ann Severson died October 28, 2013 at Banner Hospice in Peoria, AZ. Her husband Lyle, daughter Laurie, and sister Sharon were by her side before she left here to be with the Lord. She was a summer resident of Pelican Lake, Pelican Rapids, MN and a winter resident in Peoria, AZ going on 26 years.

Kathleen was born October 23, 1931 to Roy and Mayme Jensen in Albert Lea, MN. She attended and graduated from high school in Albert Lea. Kathleen went on to complete her nurses training at Abbott Hospital, in Minneapolis, MN. On May 17, 1953, Kathleen and Lyle Severson were united in marriage and lived in Breckenridge, MN before moving to Pelican Rapids, MN where they lived and raised their family.

Lawrence "Larry" Olson Sr.
Lawrence Olson Sr., age 86, a resident of Pelican Rapids died November 1, 2013 at the Fargo VA hospital.

Lawrence M. Olson Sr. was born December 14, 1926 in McLeod, North Dakota, the son of Knute and Lydia Olson. Larry grew up on a farm near McLeod, North Dakota. Lawrence served in the United States Army in 1945 where he lost his hearing during a training accident. On October 6, 1946 Lawrence was united in marriage with Maxine Short. Lawrence and Maxine lived in Fargo where Larry drove taxi cab and drove semi-truck for Raymond Brothers. In 1961 they moved to Pelican Rapids and Larry drove truck for Farnam's in Pelican Rapids and Fitzgerald Construction based out of Sabin, Minnesota. Larry retired in 1984.
