Lloyd M. Halvorson
Lloyd M. Halvorson, 90, of Milnor, ND, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013, at the Lisbon Area Health Services, Lisbon, ND.
Lloyd Melvin, son of Henry and Sophie (Quam) Halvorson, was born August 24, 1922 in Willey Township near Milnor, ND, where he grew up and attended school. On December 8, 1942, he entered the U.S. Army and served his country with the 82nd Airborne during World War II. Lloyd was overseas for 2 ½ years without a furlough home, while serving in Berlin Germany, Italy, Sicily, Belgium, Holland, France, and Africa. After his discharge on November 25, 1945, he returned to the Milnor area. Lloyd was united in marriage to Vivian Claus on August 8, 1948, and together they had five children. They made their home and farmed in the Milnor area until retiring in 1976. Lloyd was a member of Zion Lutheran Church his entire life. He was also a member of the Willey Township Board for 15 years, the Sargent County Draft Board for 4 years, and a lifetime member of the Lester W. Peterson Post #191 in Gwinner, and the Gibbon-Miller VFW Post #9069 in Milnor.

Lee Allen Dybsand
Lee Dybsand, Horace, ND, passed away on January 25, 2013. Lee was born on March 15, 1953 at Granite Falls, MN to Romo and Mary Dybsand. He graduated from high school in Verona, ND. He then attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.
At age 14, Lee began working with his dad on various grain elevator projects for Hogenson Construction. He continued there until 1990, and then became a partner of the Scott Moeller Co., Moorhead, MN. In 2000 he formed his own company, Agri-Resources, Inc. of Fargo, ND providing equipment, design and installation services for the seed conditioning and commodity processing industries in the region.

Ione Anderson
Ione Donna Faye (Schonberger) Anderson was born on July 29, 1924 in Buffalo, ND to Roman and Lora (Groth) Schonberger. During her youth she attended schools in Litchville, Chaffee, Casselton, and graduated from Wheatland in 1942. After high school, Ione attended Interstate Business College in Fargo. She worked in the Bonding Department at the State Capitol in Bismarck and then the State Seed Department on the NDSU campus in Fargo. Ione was united in marriage to Vernal Leo Anderson on Sept. 12, 1948. They lived in Edgeley from 1950 until 1953 when they moved to Vernal’s grandparents’ farm southwest of Gwinner where they farmed and raised their three children. They lived there until Vernal’s passing in 1987. Ione continued to live on the home place until 1995. Besides helping on the farm, Ione worked as a clerk at the Post Office in Gwinner and Forman for 20 years. She also served on the REC Board at RSR Electric in Milnor from 1987 to 1995. In 1995 Ione moved to Valley City, where she kept active quilting with the Good Samaritans Quilters at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, and Grace Free Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, eating noon meals, visiting, and various activities at the Senior Center. From 2006 until the present she lived at Bethany Towers in Fargo.
She is survived by a daughter, Dallas (Kevin) Carpenter of Gillette, WY; two sons, Kevin (Karen) Anderson of Gwinner, ND; Vern (Deborah) Anderson of Fargo, ND; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marcell (Howard) Wergeland of Moorhead, MN. Ione was preceded in death by her husband, Vernal; her parents; two sisters; and a brother.

Mark Paul Zwetzig was born October 22, 1965 in Oakes, ND to Beverly and Norman Zwetzig of Lisbon, ND. Mark died January 22, 2013 at Essentia Hospital, Fargo ND after a brief and sudden illness.
Mark was raised on a farm near Lisbon, ND. Growing up on the farm he loved to ride horses and motorcycles. He had a great time with his 3 brothers and 4 sisters on the farm. Mark graduated from Lisbon Public School in May 1984.

Georgia E. Dietzler
Georgia E. Dietzler, 93, of Breckenridge, MN, formerly of Milnor, ND, passed away January 19, 2013 at St. Francis Home, Breckenridge, MN.
Georgia Ellen Gary, daughter of Earl and Maude Gary was born February 16, 1919 at Milnor, North Dakota, where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Milnor High School in 1937. Georgia was united in marriage to Clarence Dietzler on October 8, 1937 at Milnor. To this union, four children were born. Clarence and Georgia farmed until 1947, when they became partners with Clarence's brother, Lyle and purchased the Milnor Super Valu Store. They owned and operated Dietzler's Super Valu until retiring in 1972. After retiring, Clarence and Georgia spent 20 years wintering in Weslaco, Texas, and enjoyed spending the summers at their lake home in Minnesota. Clarence passed away on August 18, 1991. Georgia continued to make her home in Milnor until she moved to Breckenridge, Minnesota. Georgia was active in ladies aid, bowling league, card clubs, and shuffling tournaments. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching the Minnesota Twins with Clarence.
