Caroline Meldahl, 101, of Hatton, ND passed away with her family by her side, Monday, August 12, 2013 at Hatton Prairie Village, Hatton, ND. A memorial service will be Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:30am at Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, rural Hatton, ND. A visitation will be Friday, August 16, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00pm with a 7:00pm prayer service at Hatton Prairie Village, Hatton, ND.

Caroline Aaker was born August 17, 1911 to Carl and Eina (Johnson) Aaker on the Aaker Farm, rural Hatton, ND. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Hatton High School. After high school, Caroline attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND. Upon returning to the Hatton area, Caroline worked at the Farmers Store and also did some accounting/bookkeeping for several other businesses in Hatton. On February 10, 1934, Caroline married Carl Meldahl, with services at the Aaker Farm. Carl passed away in 1985. Caroline was a member of the Beaver Creek Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and Steele County Red Cross. Caroline was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, and loved to entertain.

Marvin Theodore Nordbo died August 6, 2013 at Rosewood on Broadway.

Marvin was born February 19, 1926 at Hatton, ND to Aslak and Sophia (Midboe) Nordbo. He attended grade school at rural Hatton and graduated from Northwood, ND high school in 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 aboard the USS Goshen, USS Dyess and USS Boston. Upon returning, he attended North Dakota Agricultural College, Fargo, graduating with a B.S. degree in Agricultural Education in June 1950. After that he taught vocational agriculture education at Carrington, ND high school and veterans’ agriculture education at Hillsboro, ND. He married Ardelle Hansen in 1952. In 1952 he joined the ND Extension Service of NDSU and served as county agriculture agent at Burke County, Bowbells, ND until 1955, when he returned to NDSU for graduate school; receiving his Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics in 1957. He was an assistant professor in the Agriculture Economics Department at NDSU, teaching and doing research with the Tennessee Valley Authority. In 1963 he joined the Trust Department at First National Bank Fargo. He received his diploma from National Graduate Trust School, Kellogg School, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois in 1973. He retired as Senior Trust Officer from Wells Fargo Bank-Fargo in 1987. After retiring, he formed MTM Co. Farm Land Management which he ran until 1991. He was a member of Farm Bureau, Northwest Farm Managers, American Legion and Sons of Norway. He enjoyed attending USS Goshen reunions.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 26, 2013 at 10:30am at the Holmes United Methodist Church, rural Reynolds, ND. Judy Ann Anderson
Born January 26, 1947 in Williston, ND, Judy Ann Anderson was visiting her son’s home in Lake Park, MN when sudden cardiac arrest rendered her unconscious on July 5. She was taken to Essentia Hospital in Fargo, but never regained consciousness and died there on July 9. A longtime North Dakota resident, she had moved to Tucson, AZ in 1989.

Judy lived for family and friends, who always found joy in her presence. Survivors include her husband Lawrence Lippert of Tucson, AZ; her son Gary Jon Schander and her daughter Tanya Rae Keats of Phoenix, AZ; her sisters Connie Klein of Fargo, Sharon Anderson of Carrington, Linda Zimmerman of Tucson, AZ and foster-sister Jeanette Bryant of Anoka MN, as well as her brother Edward of Barlow. Also surviving are her two ND granddaughters, Maggie Schander and Morgan Schander, plus former husband Frank Schander of Fergus Falls, as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
