Carl Martin Bjugstad
Carl Martin Bjugstad was born in Fargo, ND to Carl and Anna (Schultz) Bjugstad of Sheldon, ND on December 9, 1948. He died on August 14 near Litchville, ND at the age of 64 in the course of performing his professional calling.

Carl, better known as Marty, resided in Sheldon ND all of his life. He graduated from Sheldon High School. He also spent time in the US Navy stationed aboard the USS Tulare. Following his discharge he worked for Jalbert Oil. He later purchased and operated the company as Marty's Bulk Service. Starting in 1994 he traveled extensively as a professional driver employed by E. W. Wylie Corporation of Fargo, ND. He won many safety awards, traveling 2,000,000 miles accident free since 1994. He competed in the ND Motor Carrier Association's Professional Driving Competitions, winning many trophies including 1st place and grand champion in 2010. He traveled to Columbus OH to compete in the National Competition that same year. Driving truck was a passion for him.

Kathleen McEvers, age 87, Moorhead, MN, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013, in the home of her daughter in McDonough, GA, surrounded by loving family.

Kathleen Helen Ferris, daughter of William and Florence (Singer) Ferris, was born July 14, 1926, in Fargo, ND. She graduated in 1944 from Moorhead State Campus School. Kathleen enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling, and loved to bake, especially bread making. She was a lifelong member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Sabin, MN.

Linda M. (Haugrud) Alsager, 97, passed away peacefully December 23 in Pocatello, ID after a brief illness. A memorial service was held in Pocatello, ID, December 30th. A funeral service will be held at Fredrikson-Boulger Chapel in Kindred, ND on August 9th at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Gol Cemetery, rural Kindred, ND. There will be family visitation prior to the service at 10 a.m.

Linda was born the second of seven children to Knute M. and Johanna Theolinda (Sundstrom) Haugrud on the family farm near Pelican Rapids, MN, September 28, 1915. She attended country school and was baptized and confirmed at the Grove Lake Lutheran Church. She graduated from beauty school and worked as a hairdresser in Fargo with her older sister, Kathleen, until her marriage.

Arlene Schultz, age 84, of Frazee, MN passed away on July 27, 2013 at her home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Perham with Pastor Carl Noble officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Schoeneberger Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will take place at Gorman Township Cemetery, rural Frazee, MN.

Surviving Arlene is her son, Dale (Darlene) Schultz of Perham, MN; her daughters, Sharon (Gerald) Mindermann of Dilworth, MN, Betty (Keith) Janke of Frazee, MN, and Joyce (Bruce) Perrine of Perham, MN.

Donald Holweger, 86, of East Grand Forks, MN died July 21, 2013 at the Luther Memorial Home, Mayville, ND.

Donald Holweger was born on April 5, 1927 in Emerado, ND the son of Fred and Lena Holweger. Donald grew up in Emerado and farmed with his parents. On December 30, 1949 he was united in marriage to Glenna Stepanek at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Grand Forks, ND. In 1960 they moved to East Grand Forks, MN where he worked for Johnson-Gillanders Construction Co. and Lunseth Plumbing & Heating. In 1974 he started Holweger Excavating and continued to own and operate the business before retiring in 1998.
