Lloyd Davis Malstrom
Lloyd Davis Malstrom (88) was born January 13, 1925 in Fargo, ND to Eliza and David Malstrom. He passed away on January 2, 2014 at his home in Phoenix, AZ. He is survived by his two daughters, Dee Crockett (AZ) and Debbie Higginbotham (NC), son-in-law Frank Higginbotham and four grandchildren - Dorin and Frank Higginbotham, Dana and Denise Crockett, as well as his sister, Carol (Robert) Kennedy, Moorhead, MN. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Malstrom, and his sisters, Florence Valan and Adeline Klein.

Lloyd was a WWII veteran, serving in the campaigns of southern France and central Europe. He had a successful career as a salesman and manager in the banking equipment industry. As a retiree, Lloyd was active in the American Legion and VFW for many years. He served as past Commander of Post 91 and was instrumental in the development of the Veteran Memorial Signage on Interstate 17. His hobbies included playing pool, singing karaoke, yodeling, dancing and bowling. He was an active member in his church. Lloyd was known for his warrior spirit, charismatic personality and concern for others. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 11 at Cactus Christian Fellowship, 2401 E. Cactus Road in Phoenix and at the American Legion of Phoenix. Interment will be January 13 at the National Veteran Military Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ

Bette Daggett 82, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, January 3rd, after a short stay in the Frazee Care Center.

Bette Mae (Elizabeth) Athmann was born on April 17, 1931 to Edward and Reina (Hopfner) Athmann. She grew up in Beaulieu, Minnesota with her brother Delore and her sister Florine. They lived in the village, where her family owned and operated the general store. Her love of music began at an early age, dancing to the tunes of the Athmann Boys. Later, the Athmann family moved into Mahnomen where she graduated from High School in 1948.

Jerome "Jerry" Andrew Kochmann
Jerome "Jerry" Andrew Kochmann, 89, passed away January 3, 2014, at the Mahnomen Health Center. He was born June 24, 1924, near Beaulieu, MN, to Julius and Veronica (Athmann) Kochmann.

Jerry grew up on the family farm with three brothers and three sisters. He attended North Elementary School and graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1942. After high school, he remained at home continuing to farm with his father and worked various odd jobs.
