Myrtle V. Kuehn, 97, died at Sanford Palliative Care on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from complications from a stroke. She was a loving mother and mother-in-law, and will be deeply missed.
Myrtle Victoria Barsness was born on December 30, 1915 to Carl and Betsy (Lerdahl) Barsness, in Cyrus, MN. She grew up in Cyress and attended school through the 11th grade. Myrtle married Ervin L. Kuehn on May 12, 1940 in Cyress. They had two sons, Gerald (Jerry) and James.

FARGO – Bill Lopez, a former area basketball referee, died Thursday at his home. He was 57. Lopez was president and CEO of ShareHouse, a nonprofit organization that provides chemical dependency treatment services. He also was president of the Red River Valley Officials Association.
