Donald Wayne Wagner was born June 5, 1934, in Carmi, IL. He married Pauline Mouser on June 9, 1951, in Henderson, KY.

Donald pastored and conducted evangelistic meetings in Illinois, Missouri, and Kansas from 1968 to 1988. The couple moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1988. Following their move to Moorhead, Donald served as interim pastor and filled in pulpit supply in churches in Detroit Lakes, Barnesville, and White Earth, MN, from 1995 to 2008. Donald also served as a Cass County Jail Chaplain from 2002 to 2009.

Harry Hannig
Harry Hannig, age 94, of Valley City, ND, died Wednesday, March 19th at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 24th at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Schuldt Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church on Monday morning. Interment will be in St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery in the spring.

Harry Francis Hannig, the son of Paul and Mary (Priebe) Hannig, was born December 14, 1919 on a farm in Alta Township of Barnes County. Times were hard and money was scarce, as a consequence, Harry was unable to advance his education beyond eighth grade. He was on his own by the age of 14 and worked for area farmers with the goal of saving enough money to buy his own farm. On September 24, 1941 he married Lucille Ertelt at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Oriska, ND. Together they decided to work toward their shared goal of land ownership. Lucille moved to Oregon to work in the shipyards and on December 14, 1941 Harry enlisted in the US Army. He was a member of the 14th Division and was trained to drive a tank. After landing in southern France in 1944, he drove his tank through Europe losing more than one tank to enemy fire and losing many more friends. The culmination of the military offensive was to be remembered as the Battle of the Bulge, and experience he rarely spoke of. He was honorably discharged on February 26, 1946. Lucille has said that she never saw anyone so happy to be home. Harry and Lucille achieved their dream of land ownership when they were able to put a down payment on three and a half quarters of land in Cuba Township. With a great deal of hard work they successfully maneuvered through drought, hail, low crop prices and even a tornado to make a full and happy life for themselves and their children. After retirement, they moved to Valley City and enjoyed their individual interests. Harry liked to visit friends and always kept a close eye on the farm his son was now running. Lucille kept an eye on Harry and also enjoyed gardening and knitting. Harry was a life member of the VFW, American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.

Ingman E. Thoreson Jr.
Ingman E. Thoreson, Jr., age 86, Crookston, died Monday, March 17, 2014 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Ingman was born on April 17, 1927 at rural Climax, son of Ingman, Sr. and Emma (Eken) Thoreson. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. He was united in marriage with Patricia “Pat” Ryan on June 12, 1947 at the Trinity Lutheran Church parsonage in Crookston by Pastor Haugen. The couple made their home on his parent’s farm in Roome Township, rural Climax, before purchasing a farmstead in Tynsid Township, near Climax and moving there in 1950. They farmed in the Climax area until retiring in 1990 and moving into Crookston in October of 1997. Their farm was recognized as a Century Farm in 1976. He and Pat traveled in a motor home for a while and spent winters in Florida, Texas, California and Arizona and also took a couple of trips to Hawaii. Following the move to Crookston, Ingman received the first “Good Neighbor Award” for helping his neighbors by blowing snow out of driveways and off sidewalks. Ingman and Pat were faithful members of the Sand Hill Lutheran Church. His wife, Pat, died on November 19, 2012.

Ingman is survived by his son: Tom (Jan) Thoreson of Moorhead, MN; daughter-in-law: Lynn (Paul) Strodtbeck of Grand Rapids, MI; five grandchildren: Wayne (Lisa) Thoreson of Climax, Shari (Greg) Wiersma of Allendale, MI, Mikell (Jennifer) Thoreson of Mayville, WI, Chad (Jennifer) Thoreson of West Fargo, ND and Lori (Scott) Rush of Grand Rapids, MI; nine great-grandchildren: Alexis, Logan, Garrett, Gabrielle, Hallie, Parker, Lily-an, Levi and Caden; siblings: Arlone Cymbaluk of Crookston, Delano (Janice) Thoreson of Climax, JoAnn (Gerald) Johnson of East Grand Forks; brother-in-law: Eddie Moser of Medina, ND; sister-in-law: Diane (Everett) Marshall of Thief River Falls; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ingman, Sr. and Emma; his wife of 65 years: Pat; a son: Gary, who died in 1971; a sister: Delores Smith Moser; a sister-in-law: Kay Askeland; brothers-in-law: Ed Askelund, Warren Smith and Marvin Cymbaluk; and a sister-in-law & brother-in-law: Gloria & Veril Hagen. May God richly bless the memory of Ingman Edward Thoreson, Jr.

Wallace Beaton, 97, West Fargo, ND died on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Sanford Health - Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.

Wallace A. Beaton was born Jan. 5, 1917 at Fargo, ND to Frank and Ida (Dobrinz) Beaton. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from high school. Wally enlisted in the US Navy and served during World War II. Wally married Violet Krueger on Feb. 4, 1946 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Fargo. They made their home in West Fargo and have resided at their current residence since 1956. Wally worked for Central Livestock at the West Fargo Stockyards for many years and prior to retirement was a cattle buyer. He also farmed for many years.

Jeffrey "Jeff" Alan Skuza, Fargo, ND passed away on March 11, 2014 at the age of 47. He was born April 22, 1966 in Minneapolis, MN to Thomas and Donna Skuza.

Jeff grew up in Becker, MN and graduated from Becker High School in 1984. He went on to earn his Criminal Justice degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 1988. While completing college he worked as a Loss Prevention Officer for Target Corporation and later at Nash Finch Corporation in Fargo, ND. While working for Nash Finch he was transferred to Sioux Falls, SD in 1989.

AnnaMarie Jones was born May 6, 1928, to Charlie and Inga (Haukom) Jones, on a farm north of Devils Lake, ND. The family moved to a farm east of Southam, ND, when she was three months of age. In April of 1940, they moved to a farm east of Thief River Falls, MN.

AnnaMarie was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in May of 1946. She worked for Taxeraas Implement Company from 1946 to 1956, as parts manager, and later as office manager. AnnaMarie moved to Fargo, ND, in December of 1956, where she worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad, as a clerk, until July of 1958.

Helen Rose Guyette, the daughter of Henry and Diana (LaCourse) Guyette, was born April 4, 1931, in Haydenville, MA. She earned a cosmetology degree in Boston, MA. On September 8, 1956, she married Harry Hawk in Haydenville. Helen and Harry moved to Minnesota in 1963. Helen spent several years as a homemaker, but eventually opened a beauty shop in Glyndon. After retirement, she dedicated her time to serving various needs in the community.
