Thelma H. Lindberg
Thelma H. Lindberg, 81, Fertile, MN, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Fertile. Thelma Helene Lindberg was born Feb. 15, 1933, in Bear Park, MN, to Harold and Thora Sirjord. She was baptized and confirmed at Faaberg Lutheran Church. She graduated from Gary High School in 1949, when she was 16. In 1973, she received her LPN degree from Agassiz Valley School of Practical Nursing, Crookston, MN. On June 3, 1950, Thelma married Leo Lindberg at the Faaberg Church parsonage in Rindahl, MN. They spent their married life on a farm near Fertile where they raised 6 children. Thelma created a loving home where her children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren learned about living with faith, grace, dignity, wisdom, and good humor. Thelma generously served her church and community. A member of Varnes and Concordia Lutheran Churches, she taught Sunday school and was active in the Ladies’ Aid. Thelma was President of WELCA, participated in Christian Women’s Club, T.E.C, and Birthday Club. She worked as a Charge Nurse at Fair Meadow Nursing Home from 1973 to 1995. In retirement, she volunteered at Fair Meadow, participated in Red Hat Ladies and kept up with her lifelong hobbies of traveling, baking, quilting, gardening, knitting, and reading poetry and historical fiction. Throughout her life, Thelma was a steadfast friend to many. Thelma’s great joy in life was seeing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoying themselves at her Cable Lake cabin and attending their activities. Thelma is survived by her children: Lee Lindberg, Fertile, MN; Mark (Sue) Lindberg, Fertile; Jeff (Randi) Lindberg, Baxter, MN; Kevin (Peggy) Lindberg, Fargo, ND; Brian (Kathi) Lindberg, Mentor, MN; Teresa (Mark) Aakhus, Roosevelt, NJ; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one brother, Hiram (Harriet) Sirjord, Moorhead, MN, three sisters, Altha Spaeth and Sonja Nelson, both of Mahnomen, MN, and Vivian Johnson, Paynesville, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; mother, Thora; father, Harold; and stepmother, Elaine.

Funeral: 11:00AM Friday, April, 4, 2014, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fertile.

Patricia "Pat" Knutson Hogue
Pat, 84, formerly of Linton and Fargo, passed away on February 19th, 2014, at the Watercrest Nursing Home of Miami, Florida. Pat was born in 1929 in Pollock, S.D., to Ed and Anna Knutson.

After graduating from college, she began teaching in Great Falls, MT, and married the love-of-her-life, the late RR (Buster) Hogue. Together they raised six children and shared married life for sixty-plus years. Buster passed away in 2009.

Jim “Fang” Maroney
Jim “Fang” Maroney, 59, Milwaukee, WI, left this earth on March 23, 2014 in Madisonville, TN on route to an event in New Smyrna, FL. Jim was born November 24, 1954, a native of Casselton, ND to Maury and Myrtle Maroney. As a toddler, growing up in Casselton, Jim was seen always with an airplane in his hands and grew proficient at flying RC aircraft. Later in life, Jim and his dad won top honors at the RC Top Gun “invitation only” competition. Jim went to Casselton High School and was a graduate of West Fargo High School. He was never at loss for a good laugh or a clever practical joke.

Jim received his degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the University of California- Fresno prior to enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. He is survived by his wife, Susan. After meeting in California during his tour of duty at El Toro Marine Corp Air Station, they married in 1993 and made their home(s) first in Fargo, ND and Washington State and then in Wisconsin.

Ronald Paul Miller
Ronald Paul Miller, age 77, resident of Grand Forks, ND passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at his home in Grand Forks.

Ronald was born March 8, 1937 in McVille, ND the son of Gilman and Clarice (Olson) Miller. He graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1956. On March 28, 1964 he married Darlene Rondestvedt in Dazey, ND. After their marriage the couple lived and farmed/ranched near Binford. Ronald was active with the ND National Guard from 1958 through 1964. He retired from the farm in 1995. Ronald worked for Sheyenne Tooling in Cooperstown and also worked for Red Willow Bible Camp as grounds keeper until moving to Grand Forks in 2001. Ronald always enjoyed flying and worked for Cirrus Design Corp. from 2004 through 2008 building airplanes and then later driving truck for Trans-Systems. Ronald’s love of farming was evident with his excitement to assist area farmers with seasonal farming activities. In addition to loving farming and being a hard worker he cared deeply for his friends and family and exemplified this by putting others needs ahead of his own and helping however and whenever he was able.

Cossette

Ernest (Ernie) Cossette, 89, West Fargo, N.D., passed away on Saturday March 22, 2014 at Sanford Health in Fargo. He was born near Hickson, ND on February 24, 1925 to Arthur and Emma (DuBord) Cossette. He grew up on the family farm and farmed with his family. Ernie attended St. Benedict School in Wild Rice. On July 18, 1944 he married Hazel (Rheault) at St. Benedict. Ernie continued farming until 1946 when he and Hazel moved to Fargo. He was employed at Nabisco for the next 15 years. Ernie then worked as a custodian until his retirement in 1990. Ernie and Hazel moved to West Fargo in 1975.

Kenneth James “Old Crow” Johnson, Sr.
Kenneth James “Old Crow” Johnson, 89, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away on March 19th, 2014 peacefully in his sleep at Bethany Nursing Homes under the care of Hospice.

Ken was born on November 17, 1924 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to his mother, Julia Johnson, and his father, Herman Johnson. Ken attended school in Grand Forks until the eighth grade when he quit to work on the family farm.

Alan Bosman went home to the Lord on March 17, 2014. He was born and raised in Grand Forks, ND. Alan married Bev (Harpster) in 1978 and they raised their family in Moorhead, MN. He was a wonderful man who loved his family with all of his heart. He leaves behind his wife, Bev, three children Rachel of Tucson, AZ, Mike of St. Paul, MN and Kirstie ( fiancé Jordan Hoehne) of Fargo, two special pets, Henry and Fizz, mother, Donna Bosman of Grand Forks, ND, brothers Jerry (Kathy) and Darin of Grand Forks, ND and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Garfied, his brother David, grandparents Aagot and Amund Bosman and Oscar and Pearl Huus. The family would like to thank Dr. Snow, nurse Renae, Susan Hofland, Dr. Potluri and the staff at Roger Maris, Nardini Fire, Horace Mann Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, Madison Elementary and the OT PT staff of Fargo Public Schools and our family and friends for their wonderful kind and caring support and generosity. The family requests no flowers due to allergies.

VISITATION: 5-7 PM Friday, March 21, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead – and also one hour prior to the service in the church on Saturday
