Patricia Mary Johnson
Patricia Mary Johnson (nee McLennan) passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Acute Care Hospital in Billings, MT; her husband, son Mark and his wife Lorie were at her side. Death was caused by complications associated with surgery six months earlier. Pat was born in Chicago on 23 November 1934, the daughter of Earl and Teresa McLennan, and the youngest of three sisters. Only Pat grew to adulthood as her two siblings died tragically early in life.
As a beautiful young lady, Pat married Wally Johnson her high school sweetheart and soul mate on July 9, 1955. The two went on to forge an inseparable relationship that was steadfast for the nearly 58 years they shared love and life together.

Ethel Lipp, age 95, of East Grand Forks, MN, formerly of Cando and Rolla, ND passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Edgewood Vista Nursing Home, East Grand Forks, MN.
Ethel I. Lipp was born on May 6, 1918 in Bisbee, ND to Victor and Emilie (Winneberg) Nelson. Her family farmed in the rural Agate and Wolford area. Ethel attended Hardwheat Country School through 8th grade and attended High School in Bisbee. She married Harlan Lipp on February 14, 1937 and they lived in Cando until 1953 when they moved to Rolla. Ethel had a variety of jobs in Rolla including SuperValue Grocery, the Rolla Mercantile Store, Rolette County Court House, and Theel Motors. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star in Rolla. She was also a long time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Rolla. Ethel was currently a resident of Edgewood Vista Nursing Home where she passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, 2013.

Orland K. Engebretson
Orland K. Engebretson, 81, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Ecumen –Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
Orland was born on March 20, 1932, the son of Ener and Anna (Huseby) Engebretson in Scambler Township, rural Otter Tail County, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Pelican Rapids, graduating from high school in 1950. During his high school years, he excelled in baseball, basketball and football. As a young man, Orland enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving during the Korean War. Orland was united in marriage to Marlys Herfindahl on September 3, 1955 at Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, Minnesota. Upon his return from the Korean War, Orland began his education at NDSU and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Orland and Marlys moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he work for the city of Milwaukee. After two years, they moved to Detroit Lakes and he worked for Harvey W. Nelson Construction in Lake Park for nine years. Orland and Marlys then moved to Moorhead, where he went to work for Abbott/Arne/Schwindt Incorporated for thirty-five years, retiring in 2002. After his retirement, they made their home in Detroit Lakes.
