Anita Schulz, age 78, Fargo, ND, formerly of Dilworth, MN, died Friday, March 30, 2013, in Bethany on University, Fargo.
Anita Siemer, daughter of Georg and Henni (Timmerman) Siemer, was born in Delmenhorst, Germany on August 25, 1934. She grew up and received her education in Ganderkessee, Germany. She was married there to Benno Schulz on April 28, 1956. Following their marriage, they immigrated to Gackle, ND, and shortly after moved to Fargo. In 1960, the family moved to Dilworth, MN.

Cathryn Marie (Wambheim) Rykken, age 88, of Black River Falls passed away at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 14th. She was born in Hatton, ND, on October 20, 1924, to Harvey and Josie (Olstad) Wambheim and graduated from Hatton High School in 1942.
Cathy attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, a second-generation Cobber, graduating in 1946 with a dual degree in English and Economics. She was a soprano soloist for the Concordia Choir under Paul J. Christiansen, and some of her fondest memories from that time were traveling the US and Canada on choir tour. It was during her rendition of “Stormy Weather” that she first caught the eye of a young returning war veteran, Thorwald “Unk” Rykken, and the two married in 1948. They enjoyed over 64 years of marriage.

Harold was born January 5, 1938 to Charles and Magdaline (Koch) Garnier in Bismarck, ND. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in Bismarck, graduating from St. Mary’s High School. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth (Elter) on November 22, 1958 and had five beautiful children.

Richard Allen Herbranson
Richard Allen Herbranson, 61, Fargo, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls, MN.
Richard was born on January 11, 1952 at St. Ansgar Hospital in Moorhead to Clarence Oceanus and Beatrice Lorraine (LaPash) Herbranson. Richard was baptized and confirmed at Olivet Lutheran Church. He grew up in Fargo and was a May 29, 1970 graduate from Fargo North High School. He enjoyed many nicknames throughout his life, “Ricky,” “Rick” and “HeBe.” He entered the Marine Corps on January 13, 1972. During the Vietnam War he was awarded the Rifle Expert and was recognized for his physical fitness numbers and times. He was honorably discharged from Camp Pendleton, CA on January 11, 1974 achieving the rank of Corporal. Richard married Renee Langer on July 10, 1981 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo. They made their home in Fargo.

Jewell Ishaug, age 89, a resident of Pelican Rapids, MN, died on Monday, February 25, 2013, at Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, MN.
Stanley Jewell Ishaug was born July 26, 1923 in Pelican Rapids, MN, the son of Carl and Johanna (Stubstad) Ishaug. He was baptized and confirmed in the West North Immanuel Church. Jewell attended District #12 country school through the eighth grade. On March 21, 1948 Jewell was united in marriage to Betty Norma Stephenson at North Immanuel, after having dated for two years. He worked on the family dairy farm prior to taking over the operation until his retirement in 1985; however, he remained on the farm until they moved into Pelican Rapids in October of 1993.
