Monday, May 6, 1985, was my first day at work at WDAY-TV. I was a young meteorologist with a little less than one year of broadcast experience since graduating from Iowa State in 1984. I was given three days to learn the computer graphics system we were using at the time, which was not difficult owing to the 1985 technology.
