Jo Marie Larson
Jo Marie Larson (74), of Valley City, ND, passed away January 1, 2013 in the Palliative Care Unit in Fargo, ND after battling leukemia.
Jo Marie Larson was born July 2, 1938, in Grand Forks, ND. She was the daughter of Leonard & Nora (Eide) Quamme. She graduated from New Rockford High School, then attended Grand Forks Deaconess Hospital of Nursing and graduated in 1959. She met and married William Charles Albrecht Jr. on August 21, 1960. They made their homes in Rolla, ND and McClusky, ND. After William’s death, she moved to Devils Lake, ND to continuing her nursing career. She met and married Sivert Larson, March 17, 1973. The couple farmed near Binford, ND. Sivert passed away on Sept 27, 2000, and she later moved to Valley City, ND. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, and was active in making quilts with the Good Samaritans. She worked for the Young People’s Healthy Heart Program creating visual aids depicting fat in various foods.

Genevieve Bradbury
Genevieve Bradbury, 84, Detroit Lakes, MN died on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Oak Crossing, Detroit Lakes surrounded by her family.
Genevieve Eileen Haspel was born Dec. 26, 1928 to William and Phyllis (Harding) Haspel in Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, Canada at the home of her maternal grandparents. She lived in Camrose, Alberta until age 11 when the family moved to Minnesota. She graduated from high school in Detroit Lakes, MN in 1948. She worked for two years at Northwestern Bell as an operator. Gen married Leslie “Bud” Bradbury on July 19, 1951 at Detroit Lakes. They made their home at the Bradbury farm near Vergas, MN where they farmed until Bud’s passing in 1987. She then worked as a housekeeper at the Holiday Inn in Detroit Lakes until 2004.

Dorothy was born December 30, 1915 in Christine, N.D.to Nels and Ellen Nellermoe. She was the last surviving sibling of eleven children. She grew up in Christine, graduating from Christine high school, playing church organ, teaching Sunday School, playing piano in a dance band and spending time with her large family.

Ruth Anderson
Ruth Evelyn Anderson, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend died Sunday, December 23, 2012 in the Mahnomen Health Center Hospital at the age of 96.
Ruth E. Christianson was born March 9, 1916 to Hilda and Idius Christianson in Gully, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Lund Lutheran Church. Ruth's family was blessed with the gift of music and she and her siblings played various instruments and spent many evenings playing and dancing in the music room. Ruth graduated from Gully High School and furthered her education at Bemidji State College from 1934-1935. In 1936, she graduated from Brady & Rogers School of Cosmetology in Minneapolis, MN. Ruth was employed in various salons in Minneapolis, McIntosh and Bagley, MN. Although she didn't always work in a salon setting, she continued to apply her skills as a cosmetologist for her family and friends.

Marlace June Fahrlander
Marlace June Fahrlander passed away peacefully on December 18, 2012 at Walker Methodist Nursing Home in the company of her family. Born February 24, 1926 in Pelican Rapids, MN to Charlie and Manna (Nilson) Drayton, she grew up on a farm near what is now Maplewood State Park and attended grade school in a one-room school house in rural Pelican Rapids. Marlace graduated from Pelican Rapids High School as valedictorian of her class. After graduation, she worked as a bookkeeper in Fergus Falls, MN. While visiting her aunt H.E. in Felton, Marlace met her future husband, Frank Fahrlander, at a dance. They were married on June 11, 1948 in Fergus Falls. They settled in Fargo, ND, where they raised their four children. In addition to caring for her family, Marlace worked as a nurse's aide at St. Luke's Hospital until she was 74 years old. She volunteered with ARC and served on a human rights committee, protecting the interests of people with developmental disabilities. Marlace was a generous, kind-hearted woman with a great sense of humor that endeared her to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by husband, Frank, by her son, Paul, and siblings Emil, Clifford, and Lillian. She is survived by her children Mary, Jill, and John, her grandchildren Damien (Donelle), William, Elizabeth, George, and Henry, great-grandchildren Magdalena and Charlie, and by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thurs, Dec. 27 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, Edina Chapel, 7110 France Ave, Edina MN 55435--visitation at 2:00, service at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the donor’s favorit
