Ahlin: Akin, Ryan and Berg all in same anti-woman camp
Please don’t laugh at Missouri Congressman Todd Akin for crudely saying about rape exactly what the 2012 Republican platform asserts and vice president candidate Paul Ryan and North Dakota Senate hopeful Rick Berg long have espoused: A raped woman should have no right to abortion.

Letter: Berg, Congress stall farm bill
Rather than trying to cast blame somewhere else, Rep. Rick Berg, R-N.D., and Rep. Kristi Noem, R-S.D., should admit that the seeds for stalling the farm bill were laid when they cast votes for a budget that doesn’t align with the Ag Committee proposal.

Letter: Out-of-step Heitkamp doesn’t understand ND way
As a woman attending college at North Dakota State University, I am sick and tired of Heidi Heitkamp’s relentless attacks on Rick Berg supposedly on behalf of North Dakotans everywhere. Heitkamp just doesn’t understand what North Dakotans believe in.

FARGO - North Dakota’s U.S. Senate race is widely viewed as one of the most competitive in the nation. Yet here on the prairie, the contest between Republican Rep. Rick Berg and Democrat Heidi Heitkamp is less engaging than distant observers proclaim.

Berg’s Medicare plan out-of-touch
Congressman and U.S. Senate candidate Rick Berg should be embarrassed about using his mother to mislead other seniors about Medicare, but my guess is he is not.

Forum editorial: Tax credit essential for wind
The expiration at the end of the year of a federal wind energy tax incentive is but one factor slowing the development of electrical generation by wind. The other factors of note are the soft demand for electricity because of the recession and the availability of inexpensive natural gas to generate electricity at rates that make wind-generated power less competitive.

The record shows Berg is pro-women
As a wife, mother and woman who votes, I find the accusations that Rep. Rick Berg, R-N.D., is anti-woman to be absurd. If Berg were really conducting a war against women, would he take over a project for the YWCA to provide a new facility for the group?

Berg supports work of YWCA
Rep. Rick Berg, R-N.D., is the kind of leader North Dakota needs in the U.S. Senate. His most recent advertisement shows how Berg worked to bring people together to develop the current YWCA facility in south Fargo. America, now more than ever, must have leaders who recognize our nation’s needs and who can bring people together to solve those needs.

Berg not truthful about Medicare
Rep. Rick Berg, R-N.D., gets his mother to say that the Affordable Care Act cuts benefits to regular Medicare beneficiaries in the amount of $500 billion. This is untrue.
