Jerrald "Jerry" G. Larson
Jerrald G. "Jerry" Larson, 78, of LaMoure, ND, passed away March 12, 2013, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Jerrald was born at LaMoure, ND on June 10, 1934, to Alfred and Neva (Muir) Larson. He attended country school at Dean 1 and Dean 3 through the 8th grade, and graduated from LaMoure High School in 1952. Jerry joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Putnam, a destroyer from 1953 to 1957. After his discharge, he returned to LaMoure to help his parents on the farm. On February 27, 1959, Jerry married Dorothy Smith. They made their home on the family farm until 1960, when they moved to Dickey, North Dakota, where Jerry worked at the Adrian Elevator. In 1961, the family moved to LaMoure, and Jerry was employed by the LaMoure Creamery, Art's Red Owl, and Willey's Milk Service along with starting his side business, Larson Septic Service in 1968, which he worked for 45 years. In 1973, he went to work for the Melroe Company in Gwinner, retiring in October of 1997 after 24½ years. Jerry also enjoyed his part time job doing farm work for Herb and Dakotah Harmsen, and Larry Harmsen.

Wallace "Wally" H. McDonald, 85, of Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Clayco Care Center in Barnesville, MN.

Wallace Harris McDonald, the son of Lindsay and Gladys (Harris) McDonald, was born January 6, 1928, in Moorhead, where he graduated from Moorhead High School. From 1946 to 1958 he served his country in the US Army (Airborne Infantry) during the Korean Conflict, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class. In 1958, he joined the US Marine Corps, serving in Okinawa and Vietnam. Wallace was awarded the Purple Heart after he was wounded while engaging in action against Viet Cong forces in January 12, 1966. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and retired from the Marine Corps in 1968. He then returned to Moorhead where he was employed the VFW where he was also a member.
