Betty Anne Emery Halverson, age 90, passed away at Bethany Retirement Living on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.

Betty Emery was born on November 17, 1923 at Gardner, ND to Freda and Carl Emery. The Emery family farmed in the Gardner area. She was baptized and confirmed at Nora Lutheran Church at Hendrum. Betty graduated from Gardner schools where she participated in music, drama, track, and played on the girls basketball team.

James T. Bober, 73, West Fargo, ND died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his home under the care of Hospice of the RRV.

James Theodore Bober was born September 28, 1940 in Minot ND, only child to Rev. Henry A. and Thelma (Thorp) Bober. His father was a church planter, so Jim lived in a variety of communities during his childhood years including Minnesota, North and South Dakota and Wisconsin. He graduated from West Fargo High School in 1958 and married Janice Marie Larson on October 22, 1960. They made their home in West Fargo.

Craig Jay Lewis
Craig Jay Lewis was born September 7, 1951 to Robert J. and Emily Doris (Lorack) Lewis in Iowa City, Iowa. His family moved to Moorhead, MN shortly after his birth. He passed away March 11, 2014 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, after a vigilant battle with cancer.

He attended parochial and public school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead Senior High School in 1969. He attended Moorhead State College (MSUM), graduating with a degree in Medical Technology in 1973. He worked as a medical technologist at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN and St. John’s Hospital in Fargo. He became an instructor of Health Occupations at the East Grand Forks (MN) Area Vocational Technical Institute in 1976, a position he held until 1983. Craig worked at United Hospital in Grand Forks, ND as a part-time medical technologist while obtaining a master’s degree at the University of North Dakota. While attending UND, he met Donna L. McCabe, a fellow graduate student, whom he married on June 25, 1983 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck, ND.

Mark Wesley Isaacson
Mark Wesley Isaacson was born August 5, 1957 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Clayton and Nona Isaacson. He grew up around the world, and graduated from Red River High School in Grand Forks, ND. Mark worked as a Paramedic and Phlebotomist.

Mark died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at his home in Fargo, ND. He is survived by his mother, Nona Isaacson, Carlsbad, CA; sisters, Kay (Harry) Isaacson-Leibowitz, Rancho Santa Fe, CA; Marilyn (John) Isaacson-Fairbairn, Hilton Head Island, SC; and Ann Isaacson-Edmund, Derby, CT; 3 loving nieces and 3 loving nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Brigadier General Clayton Isaacson, USAF, and his brother, Major Bruce Isaacson, USMC.

Jeffrey A. Skuza
Jeffrey "Jeff" Alan Skuza, Fargo, ND passed away on March 11, 2014 at the age of 47. He was born April 22, 1966 in Minneapolis, MN to Thomas and Donna Skuza.

Jeff grew up in Becker, MN and graduated from Becker High School in 1984. He went on to earn his Criminal Justice degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 1988. While completing college he worked as a Loss Prevention Officer for Target Corporation and later at Nash Finch Corporation in Fargo, ND. While working for Nash Finch he was transferred to Sioux Falls, SD in 1989.

Doris Junkin
Doris Madelyn Junkin, 74, of Moorhead, MN died Tuesday March 11, 2014 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, North Dakota.

Doris was born on May 24, 1939 to Floyd and Adeline Junkin. She attended Central High School in Fargo, ND and graduated in 1957. After graduation she received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. She worked as an LPN in Jamestown, North Dakota from 1958-1966. In 1966 she moved to Fargo to continue working as an LPN at Dakota Hospital in the pediatric department until 1981. Doris became a nursing assistant and worked in various nursing homes around the area until about 2000. Doris later worked in the housekeeping department at Riverview Place of Fargo from 2000-2004.

Josephine Jenny (Becvar) Zaeske
With the same strength of character and sense of purpose with which she lived her life, Josephine Jenny (Becvar) Zaeske passed away on March 9, 2014, at Bethany Retirement Living from complications of COPD. Born to Mary (Vejsicky) and Vaclav Frank Becvar in Brocket, N.D. on January 12, 1923, Josephine had recently celebrated her 91st birthday and her 70th wedding anniversary with her husband, Alvin.

Josephine grew up and attended schools in Brocket along with 8 sisters and 1 brother. Her twin brother, Joseph Frank, passed away shortly after their birth. Her life-long passion for education, music, gardening, and creative baking took root in her early years, gaining her recognition as Outstanding 4-H Member for Ramsey County in 1939 and Salutatorian of her graduating class in 1940. After high school, Josephine continued her education at Minnesota State University, Moorhead, ultimately securing her under-graduate degree and completing extensive post-graduate coursework in Education.

Marian Oleson
Marian Oleson passed away peacefully on February 12, 2014 at Hope Hospice in Fort Meyers, Florida, surround by her loving husband and children. Marian was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1936 to Martin and Emma Cleveland and grew up in the Camden neighborhood of Minneapolis where she attended Patrick Henry High School. In 1958 she graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She married Arland Oleson from Breckenridge, Minnesota in 1959. They lived in Boston Massachusetts and in 1968 returned to Moorhead, Minnesota. After raising their children she returned to school for a Masters degree in Special Education from Minnesota State University – Moorhead which she completed in 1974. She returned to work in 1973 for the Clay County Association for Retarded Citizens and was director of Friendship Village in Fargo, North Dakota from 1982 to 1992. From 1993 to 2001, she was employed by the State of North Dakota as a case manager and advocate for children and adults with developmental disabilities. In her retirement, Marian spent her time with her husband, Arland at their lake cabin in Wisconsin and home in Fort Meyers, Florida. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, quilting, cross stitching and was a long time volunteer at the "Ding" Darling Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island, Florida.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years Arland, son Paul (Patricia), daughter Karen Aulino, daughter Erika (Joel) Steen, son Neal, and her 7 grandchildren Nicholas, Aaron, Anna, Christina, Benard Joseph, Markus, and Luther. She is also survived by her sisters Esther and Anna. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 26th 10:30am at Crystal Lake Cemetery (3816 Penn Ave Nort

AnnaMarie Jones was born May 6, 1928, to Charlie and Inga (Haukom) Jones, on a farm north of Devils Lake, ND. The family moved to a farm east of Southam, ND, when she was three months of age. In April of 1940, they moved to a farm east of Thief River Falls, MN.

AnnaMarie was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in May of 1946. She worked for Taxeraas Implement Company from 1946 to 1956, as parts manager, and later as office manager. AnnaMarie moved to Fargo, ND, in December of 1956, where she worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad, as a clerk, until July of 1958.
