Joyce K. Engan
Joyce K. Engan, 88, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2014 after a wonderful life filled with love and laughter. Joyce was born in Burnstad, North Dakota on June 23, 1925 to Dagny (Christensen) and Walter C. Arntz. Burnstad was one of Joyce's greatest memories and she felt growing up in this little town was one of her greatest gifts.

Joyce graduated 8th grade in Burnstad in 1939, St. Mary's Catholic High School in Bismarck in 1943, and from Bismarck Junior College in 1945. She attended North Dakota Agricultural School (NDSU) where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority and graduated in 1948 with a degree in teaching. She later received a degree in business education at Moorhead State. She taught at Mandan High School, the Division of Supervised Study at NDSU and the Business Department of Wahpeton Science School.

Helen (Fredrikson) Williams
Helen (Fredrikson) Williams passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4 surrounded by her family at Elim Care Center. Helen Fredrikson was born on February 3, 1912 to Peter and Julia Fredrikson of Davenport, ND. Helen grew up and attended school in Davenport. She attended her senior year of high school at NDAC (currently NDSU). Helen graduated from NDAC in 1934 with a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta and Guidon sororities, and she was chosen to lead the junior/senior ball her junior year of college. She was also a member of the NDSU women’s basketball team.

Helen married Fred Williams of Arthur, ND on December 30, 1938 at Davenport Lutheran Church. Helen and Fred built their family home in Arthur shortly after they were married, and Helen continued to live in the home until the time of her death.
