Eva May (Joyce) Ballinger
Eva May Ballinger, 88, went home to her Heavenly Father March 17, 2014 at Parkside Lutheran Home in Lisbon, ND., with her family surrounding her, holding hands and saying the Lord's Prayer. It was a special day as she was part Irish; it was her favorite holiday, and her father's and son's birthdays.

Eva May Joyce was born March 30, 1925 in Hinsdale, New York after her parents (Walter Patrick and Eleanor (Elofson) Joyce) moved there for job opportunities. When Eva was three years old her family moved back to the Sand Hills near Lisbon ND. She attended Owego Consolidated School and the Heaton School east of Lisbon. When she was 17 she took the train to Portland, OR., to become a nanny. While there, she also worked at a Car Hop and Jantzen Swim-ware. On a visit back to Lisbon, she met the love of her life and after a six-week courtship, she married Lester 'Bud' Ballinger on Oct 3, 1943 in Lisbon ND. At that point she started her busy life as a farm homemaker in Ransom County near Verona ND. They had six children. She was a dedicated and loving mother and a gracious lady. She was a member of St John's Lutheran Church, church circle and the Homemaker's club. After their children were raised she and Bud loved their travels from Alaska to Hawaii to Germany and many places in between. In 2009 they moved to the Beverly Ann Assisted Living in Lisbon for two years, and in 2011 Eva moved into the Parkside Lutheran Home, also in Lisbon. Her husband, Bud Ballinger, died July 3, 2013.

Kristie (Findalen) Diederick
Kristie (Findalen), Diederick, life- long resident of Moorhead, Minnesota, quietly slipped from this world late in the evening of March 15, 2014. She was an only child; born and raised on the same block in Moorhead, but surrounded by cousins galore, most of whom lived and grew up together within blocks of each other. It matters not who has passed before her, nor who is left behind; what matters is that she is remembered for the 85 years of her life. What grander legacy can there be in death than to bring a smile to someone’s face should you cross their minds, or if in a quiet moment of reflection somewhere, someone realizes you are missed. A place she had waited 27 long years to be again. She will
