MINOT, N.D. – The last quarterfinal match of the North Dakota Class A state volleyball tournament on Thursday went the distance. Dickinson rallied to defeat Fargo Shanley 25-23, 16-25, 13-25, 25-17, 16-14 at the Minot State Dome. The Midgets were led by senior outside hitter Abby Grove, who posted 17 kills, one block and two ace serves in the match.

FARGO – Saturday marked the third year in a row Grand Forks Red River and Fargo Shanley met in the East Region volleyball championship match. And like the previous two championship meetings, the Roughriders emerged the victor. Red River defeated the top-seeded Deacons 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-23 at Fargo Davies High School and will enter Thursday’s Class A state tournament as the East’s No. 1 seed.
