Roy was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 16, 1919, after graduating from Minneapolis South High School, he attended Augsburg College, and Univ. of Minnesota dental school, graduating in March of 1943. After graduation he entered the Army Dental Corps and was assigned to posts in California and India, returning to marry his high school sweetheart, Marion Arliss Erickson on October 16, 1943. Roy joined the Army Reserve after his active duty and retired as a full colonel and chief of dental service for the 5501 USAR hospital at Fort Snelling.

Adeline C. Thorson, 98, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks on May 17, 2013. Adeline Corinne Torgerson was born July 3, 1914 to Leif and Helen (Flaat) Torgerson in Thompson, North Dakota, Bentru Township. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith and confirmed at Bygland Lutheran Church, where she was a lifelong member, active in Ladies Aid, Altar Guild, and church Choir. Adeline attended Bygland School and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High School. After completing two years of teacher's training at Moorhead Normal School, she taught at Bygland "Country School."
On November 16, 1946 she married Harold Thorson in Bygland, MN. They farmed in Bygland Township for over 30 years, where she worked in their home and tended a beautiful yard and large garden. A member of Homemaker's Club, she was known for her pies, cookies, bread, lefse and other Norwegian treats. She always enjoyed a game of Scrabble.

He was born July 11, 1935, to Albin S. and Helen G. Anderson. His parents were the Burleigh County nurse and engineer, respectively. While in high school, he played on the varsity hockey team for three years; the team lost just once during that span and won the ND State Hockey Championship. Gordon also played American Legion baseball competing in the National Legion baseball tournament. After high school Gordon attended NDSU.

Funeral mass will be Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Mantador, ND with Fr. Peter Anderl officiating and burial in Calvary Cemetery, Mantador with military honors by the Hankinson American Legion Post #88 and the Mantador VFW Post # 9317 and the North Dakota National Guard. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 pm all at the church, and Tuesday morning one hour prior to the service at the church.

Byron passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Villa Maria in Fargo surrounded by his family.

Marjorie Grahn, 97, a resident of rural Vergas, MN, died on May 17, 2013 at Frazee Care Center in Frazee, Minnesota.
Marjorie Hitz was born March 23, 1916 the daughter of Frank and Marie (Havenstein) Hitz. On February 4, 1942 Marjorie was united in marriage with Ellsword Grahn at the Peace Lutheran Parsonage in Antigo, WI. Marjorie and Ellsword made their home in rural Vergas. Marjorie helped Ellsword on the farm. They operated a saw and planing mill and also processed maple syrup. Ellsword died on April 30, 1983.
