Sister M. Anne Louise Hablas
Sister M. Anne Louise Hablas, age 87, a member of the Sisters of the Presentation, Fargo, died Sunday, September 29, 2013. Barbara Hablas was born December 4, 1925, to Anne Shinners Hablas and Louis Hablas in Fargo, ND. She is survived by five sisters-- Mary Vik of St. Paul, MN; Anne Marchione of Medford, OR; Fran (Al) Venditto of Warwick, RI; Catherine (Bill) Bernard of Willmar, MN; and Ruth of Amesbury, MA; a brother, Louis (Kate) of Tilton, IL, and the members of her religious congregation. She was preceded in death by her brother, John, and brothers-in-law, Vincent Vik and Rocco Marchione

A graduate of St. Anthony’s School and of Sacred Heart Academy, Barbara entered the Order of the Presentation Sisters, received the name, Sister M. Anne Louise, and made Profession of Vows in 1946. She majored in social studies and received her undergraduate degree from the College of St. Scholastica. Her graduate degree which she received from The Catholic University of America was in history. She did further study in theology and scripture at St. Paul’s University, St. Norbert’s College, St. Louis University, and Notre Dame University.
