Ervin was born on January 2, 1938 at home in Steele County, ND to John and Alma (Dronen) Carlson. He attended school in Steele County and then helped on the family farm. He married Marlys Chalmers on May 4, 1968 in Finley, ND. They made their home in Northwood, ND and St. Paul, MN before moving to Fargo, where Ervin worked for National Alfalfa.

Tim Trapp
Tim Trapp, 57, West Fargo, ND entered into heaven on Friday, September 13th, 2013 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. He lost his courageous battle with cancer but won his eternal victory with God.

Timothy Jon Trapp was born on November 23, 1955 in Valley City, ND to Myles and Lucille (Boom) Trapp. He was baptized in Marion, ND and attended school there until he moved to Valley City when he was in 8th grade. After graduating from Valley City High School in 1974, Tim graduated from Valley City State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business. He married his high school sweetheart, Dawn Werkhoven, on July 24th, 1976 in Valley City. They made their home there before moving to West Fargo in 1987. Tim worked in sales including printing and insurance his whole life.

FARGO – A Fargo man faces felony charges after being accused by police of trying to cut a Sanford Health emergency room security guard with a penny. Juan Paul Flores, 60, of Fargo, was charged Monday in Cass County District Court with one count of contact by bodily fluids, a Class C felony.

Robert "Bob" J. Roscoe
Robert "Bob" J. Roscoe, 80, Fargo, passed away Tuesday September 10, 2013 at Sanford Health.

Robert was born May 9, 1933 in Jamestown, North Dakota to John T. and Dorothy (Schmid) Roscoe. The family made their home in Montpelier, ND before moving to Dickey in 1944. He graduated in 1951 from Dickey High School. After graduation from high school he attended NDSU. He went home and worked for 6 months in the elevator. Robert attended Ellendale College for a time before enlisting in the army in 1953. He was stationed in Korea. Robert was discharged in 1956 as a sergeant. He started working with the Fargo Police Department in 1956. He married Jerry Cuypers on September 23, 1980 in Jamestown. He retired in 1989 as Police Captain after 33 years. After retirement he worked for the Federal Courts as Court Security Officer retiring on January 24, 2005.

Sven Orlando Gjesdal
Sven Orlando Gjesdal, a.k.a. Dad, George, Dump-Dump, and Grandpa O, lived every day with gusto, following his mantra: "always try to better yourself." He died Tuesday, September 10 with his family by his side.

Orlando was born October 6, 1928, in Highland Township near Nekoma, ND, to Norwegian immigrants Sven Ole and Kristi (Rystad) Gjesdal. He was very proud of his Norwegian roots, speaking Norwegian before English as a child, taking language classes as an adult, enjoying "kumla" at least once a year, and traveling to Norway multiple times to visit his extended family.

Dale Craig Knutson, 43, Moorhead, MN, passed away in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND, on Monday, September 9, 2013.

Dale was born on January 19, 1970, in Fargo, to Robert and Myrtle (Thompson) Knutson. He graduated from Moorhead High School and worked at Hornbacher's from the time he was in high school until 1998. Dale then began working at Travel Mart as a cashier, a job which he held until January 2013, when he fell ill.

Tim M. Mayo
Timothy Mark Mayo was born September 6, 1955 in Sidney, MT to Gail and Beverly (Niehenke) Vitt. When Tim was two years old, his father, Gail passed away. Beverly married John “Jack” Mayo in 1962, at which time Jack adopted Tim and his three siblings.

They moved to Cavalier, ND, where Tim attended school and graduated from Cavalier High School in 1974. He attended NDSU Bottineau for two years, where he was captain of the basketball team. He transferred to NDSU in Fargo earning a B.S. Degree in Construction Management. In 1978, Tim and his brothers, Greg and Joe, began Mayo Construction Company, carrying on a third generation of road construction.

Anita Rae Finck, 58, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo after a battle with cancer.

Anita was born in Edmore, ND to Lloyd and Marilyn Bakken. She was the fourth child out of eight. She graduated from Bowman High School in 1973 and went on to attend NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND. She married Michael Finck on May 3, 1975. They were blessed with three children. Her hobbies included sewing, baking, and gardening. She was a very creative person. She was extremely giving and caring. Anita always thought about others before herself. She worked in the mortgage and loan industry with her most recent job being at TRN Title & Abstract.
