Marjorie J. Rieke of Fargo formerly Erie, ND died on Sunday January 13, 2013 at Villa Maria under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Marjorie Joyce Henderson was born on May 3, 1926 in Arthur, ND the oldest daughter of Lawrence and Jean (Eugenia Priewe) Henderson. She was raised and attended school in Erie, ND and graduated in 1944. After graduation she entered the Cadet Nursing program of the WAC at St. John's Hospital in Fargo. She completed her nurses training in 1947 and was commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. She did not serve as WWII had ended.

Crookston mom protects children as she is hit by a vehicle at school
CROOKSTON, Minn. – A Crookston woman held her infant son in her arms and pushed her young daughter out of the way as she was struck by a car in a school parking lot Wednesday, Crookston police said. Norman W. Lichtsinn
Norman W. Lichtsinn, 80, Moorhead, MN, died on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, in Sanford Health, Fargo, due to complications from an injury sustained in an automobile accident.

Norm was born on August 15, 1932, in Graceville, MN, to Frederich and Henrietta (Ulrich) Lichtsinn. He grew up on a farm near Dumont, MN, and graduated from high school in Morris, MN. He attended the University of Minnesota and then enlisted in the U.S. Army in June 1953, serving until May of 1955. He returned to Wheaton, MN, where he farmed with his brothers until going to work for Farm Bureau Insurance. In 1964 he moved to Moorhead as agency manager for the Clay County Farm Bureau Insurance agency. Norman married Carolyn Larson on July 9, 1977 in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead. He opened Lichtsinn-Anderson Insurance Agency in Moorhead, and continued to work up until his death. Norm loved gardening, fishing and hunting. His love for his family was the defining feature of his life. He was a generous and caring man, always putting others before himself.
