Carlton Millard Mennis
Carlton Millard Mennis was born on December 29, 1929 in Litchville Township, near Kathryn, ND. He was the son of Oscar and Ida (Sand) Mennis. Carlton attended rural school and farmed with his father.

On September 11, 1951, he was drafted into the US Army. He served in Japan during the Korean Conflict until being honorably discharged, August 12, 1953. When he returned to the US, he drove gravel truck for LaMoure County while continuing to farm.

Arlin Soholt, age 87, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of Mayville, ND, died Saturday, January 5, 2013, in Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.

Arlin Duane Soholt, the son of Edward and Agnes (Eng) Soholt, was born August 4, 1925, in the Mayville area, where he grew up and received his education. He attended the Mayville Public School System. He served in the Navy during the war from 1944-1946. During his service overseas he sent money home to his father and had him propose in his place to Mary Jane Lilleberg. With surprise and excitement she said yes but had to wait for a year until he arrived home to say yes to him personally. They waited an additional year to get married

Pearl Johnson Larson, age 97, of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND.

Pearl was born April 1, 1915, in Moorhead, to Emma and Edward Johnson, the youngest of seven children. She was raised on the family farm near Averill, MN, and attended the Averill Elementary School. She was baptized and confirmed at Scandia Lutheran Church. Pearl graduated from Moorhead High School while living with her sister, Ella. She also earned her teaching degree from Moorhead State Teachers College.

Morris John Sundquist
Forman, ND: Morris John Sundquist was born August 7, 1921, to John and Mamie (Bye) Sundquist in Dunbar Township, Sargent County, North Dakota. He died January 1, 2013, at the age of 91 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Morris grew up in Dunbar Township and attended elementary school at Dunbar #1 and high school in Forman. He attended Wahpeton Science College and returned to Dunbar Township to help farm. He was a member of the Navy Aircorp in St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.
