Sue Margaret Seter Acker, 46, of Amarillo, TX, died Thursday, September 5, 2013 at her home.

Sue was born on December 27, 1966 in Windom, MN. Sue was adopted by Arluene and Wallace Seter on May 24, 1967, she was five months old. Arluene and Wally never told any of the family members, it was a complete surprise! Sue attended and graduated from Glyndon-Felton High School. Sue married Doug Acker in Glyndon, MN on September 3, 1988. Sue and Doug have two children Kristopher (Keysha) Acker and Kayla Acker (Colby Littlejohn) of Amarillo. Sue was employed as a nurses' aide and a veterinary tech. Sue had a great sense of humor and love of animals, especially dogs. Sue enjoyed camping and crafts. She was an excellent cook and creative at decorating. Sue was a blessing and brought love and joy to her parents and everyone who knew her.

Maurice V. Hartz
Maurice V. Hartz, 88 of Mapleton, ND, died on Saturday, August 31, 2013 in the Palliative Care Unit of Sanford Health in Fargo.

Maurice was born on May 23, 1925 in the Cavalier/Neche, ND area to Jacob and Isabelle (Hearst) Hartz, the second oldest of 7 children. He attended school in Cavalier and enlisted in the Navy 3 days before graduation. He served in active combat in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He married Margaret Bauer on July 1, 1949 in Breckenridge, MN where they farmed. In 1950 they bought a farm near Mapleton, ND. Maurice loved farming and working with his hands. He was an accomplished carpenter and welder and worked for Versatile Manufacturing where he also served as president of the local labor union. He served as Postmaster for the City of Mapleton, on the Mapleton School Board and as secretary/treasurer for 24 years for Durbin Township. He retired in 1989 after suffering a heart attack and he gave full credit for his recovery to his dogs. He was Margaret’s primary caregiver during her final years-visiting and feeding her every day until her death in 2005. Through an old Navy friend, he met Donna Cornell in Arizona and the couple married on August 9, 2008 at the farm near Mapleton. They spent the winters in Arizona and the summers in North Dakota and enjoyed traveling.

David Lynn Butenhoff, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 30 at his lake home on Lake Lizzie in Pelican Rapids, MN a place that he loved dearly.

David Lynn Butenhoff was born on September 6, 1952. He was born in Fargo, ND to Leonard "Butch" and Alice Maie (Rawalt) Butenhoff. He grew up on the family farm northwest of Barnesville and attended Barnesville High School and graduated in 1970. Dave also attended Moorhead Technical College and graduated with an Auto Mechanics degree in 1972.
